NO "ESL". Word is immersion works MUCH better because it FORCES kids to learn English and, learn it fast.

And I think that you're wrong on this. Most Americans DO think that way.

And with possibly 100,000 Syrian refugees headed our way, it seems like some of you would want to give them the choice of learning English or Spanish as they try to assimilate into our country... how crazy and illogical is that?

Without arguing one way or the other, it should be noted that Daryl Metcalfe is extremely conservative. He once referred to SEPTA, Philadelphia's transit system, as "another form of welfare." He makes inflammatory comments.

When you take money from someone(people paying fuel taxes) and use it for something else(people riding SEPTA), how else would you define it?

He let her talk for 3 minutes when she was supposed to be addressing the witness.

His 2014 election opponent, "Write-In," got 46% of the vote. You're probably doing something wrong if your margin of victory in an election is less than 10% despite running unopposed.

No they don't ... that's why the GOP keeps losing over and over and over again anywhere that's not in the Midwest or the Deep South. Why? Because outside of 90% White East Bum****, Kansas or Redneckville, Alabama with it's 1950s mentality most Americans don't give a flying fig about one's skin color or what language they speak. Our priorities are the economy, national defense, and things like healthcare, infrastructure improvements, education, etc.

The GOP needs to drop this "English Only" nonsense and move on into the 21st Century. The UK, the Netherlands, and Switzerland are all multilingual nations ... and all are prosperous 1st world nations with a quality of life that exceeds the US.

yes they do. You Lefties just LOVE those Nordic nations, move there if it's so awesome. Speak English or get ignored is what I say. I shouldn't have to learn another language for someone who is too lazy to learn the language of the country THEY are coming to.

Europe has been divided by language throughout history, how well has that worked out? The language barrier is most certainly an issue there. A country or group of countries divided by language is divided. There is nothing wrong with being multi lingual however we all need a common language and the obvious choice for that is English.

I was part of an open source project with members across globe, a vast majority of the development team was from Europe in particular Germany. You either used English or were not going to be part of that project, chaos would ensue otherwise.
