Don't go out of your way to "be disgusted". Neither one of their views have any sway over actual law. The pope was simply spreading love and the message of JEsus in hopes all hearts would open and do the right thing. It's all going to be ok.....

If this is your very best, then you should be very, very embarrassed.
Then what was the reason you even posted this thread? I think I'll keep looking for a thread that has a point.

I guess the flip side here is that you're a hypocrite for supporting a functionary's religious views, but when the pope has a suggestion, he's wrong. In a way you're just as guilty as you're accusing others of being.

I'm not exactly sure what the pope said and proposed, but I know the pope has had a lot of suggestions that are agreed on outside of religious terms. The pope has a lot of points that make no difference whether you're religious or not. As where Kim's ideas were strictly religious based and pandered only to religious groups and hate groups.

Hmmm....WWJD?

Be compassionate towards others who were different? Or promote bigotry? Hmmmm. What WOULD Jesus do? Seems to be a LOT of lack of compassion by those who thump their chests the hardest and loudest and say that they are "christians" and are being persecuted. Go read your holy book. It says, don't do that.

And might I point out, that most catholics are NOT liberals, but tend to be conservative. You know, anti choice, anti birth control, patriarchy, my religion or the highway, etc. And catholics seem to be embracing the pope's message.

I really don't care what the pope says.
I really don't care what whacko Kim Davis believes.

The difference is that Kim Davis is a government worker and needs to do the job she was hired to do, and if she can't, she needs to resign. The pope can say whatever he wants, but there is a huge issue when the catholic church and the LDS church pours millions and millions of dollars into anti-gay campaigns like they did in California a decade ago. And I'm sure that they are still messing around in politics. If the churches want to be political, then the churches need to pay taxes and lose their non-profit status.
