I posted about it in the politics forum but I guess it should've been posted in this forum. As a conservative, lots of respect from me for crossing lines on this issue. If a republican doesn't restrict immigration they lose my support as well.

You never can tell with this Lawless Administration - but YES, this does appear to be "Checkmate".
26 States were party to this Lawsuit. I have not read the Ruling, but I heard this is a "permanent injunction" which is supposed to be a "rare" ruling.

The AP report suggests that TeamObama might ask for an appeal before the entire 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals , not sure they can do that (depending on what "permanent injunction" means) - Activists want TeamObama to take this immediately to the Supreme Court. TeamObama chose to NOT do that and instead appealed to the 5th Circuit Court. IF he does decide to go to the US Supreme Court, they won't have much time to get the briefs together to even attempt to present it. I suspect the US Supreme Court would refuse review on this one.

Some suggest that Obama will "ignore" this ruling and the injunction. I doubt that also.
Obama did not issue an Executive Order, he sent an Executive Memo to Jeh Johnson and it's Jeh Johnson that is implementing Obama's "new" law that was not passed by any Congress.

Federal Judge Hanen has already made it clear that any violation of his Injunction WILL result in jail time for Contempt. It would get real interesting, real fast.

Obama wasn't just giving the illegals protection from deportation, which he never would've anyway. It was giving them work permits, SSN and most all services and benefits a US citizen is eligible for.

If Obama appeals it to the Supreme Court how do you think it'll go. I think the Supreme court will block it 5-4.
I wouldn't be too sure. Remember, someone's got the goods on Chief Justice Roberts, so you cannot rely on his vote when the really important cases come up.

Regardless of the EO, no illegals are going to be kicked out over this. They won't have the protection of the EO, but in practical terms, they aren't going anywhere.

Yes, but it's refreshing to see the lawless Obama thwarted in his efforts to unilaterally rewrite U.S. immigration law.

Obama

Another article about the ruling. IMHO Vox is fixin' to jump sides here from amnesty to being against it looking at HOW they talk about illegal aliens.
