I get how you think that arming everyone is an expedient immediate solution, and sure it will help in places... but the fact that we need to get to this point to have a hope of safety and civility indicates that America is badly, badly broken.
Ambient your logical thinking will fall on deaf ears. Remember, this is not about rationality this is about what "makes me feel good". We have been taught over the last 4 decades that you should have what you want when you want it, and anyone else be damned. And we will continue down that path until we destroy ourselves.

Not one of them really fights for the little guy. The Democrats claim they want higher wages; but for who? They open the flood gates for cheap votes and cheap labor that puts even more Americans out of work. They are more worried about Syrian refugees than they are our own homeless or Vets. No one, on the other side of the isle, will take one strong stand against the other party. Congress controls the purse strings; but they are funding all of the Presidential executive orders!

Try to get special interest out of DC - neither side will help you.
There is not a dimes worth of difference between these parties. Sure, they each have their special "issues" that they use to flex their constituents, abortion, gun control, climate change, blah blah blah.

It the end it's all about power and wealth. And I have news for you, NO ONE that is elected to Federal office gives a damn about YOUR prosperity. Regardless of party. Obamacare did nothing for the average American it did a LOT for the insurance companies. Our government is now fully corrupted by money. Until the people wake up and start a new grass roots movement to change it, the America we once knew is over and done.

Herein lies the problem that will ultimately lead to more mass shootings, probably over the holidays.

Quote:
On Thursday afternoon— hours after the San Bernardino massacre that killed at least 14 people — presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz had the chance to vote on an amendment to disarm terrorist combatants. However, Cruz voted no. A loophole under U.S. law permits people identified as terrorists by the FBI to legally purchase guns — including military-derived assault weapons like the .233-caliber guns used by the alleged San Bernardino killers Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik. An amendment before the Senate Thursday afternoon would have given the U.S. attorney general authority to "deny the transfer of firearms or the issuance of firearms and explosives licenses to known or suspected dangerous terrorists." Cruz joined 52 fellow Republicans--and North Dakota Democrat Heidi Heitkamp--in voting to preserve the right of known terrorists to buy the weapons they need to wage war in America. The amendment was opposed by the National Rifle Association. The NRA spent $26 million to support Republican candidates in the 2014 midterm elections.

Good because those lists are not vetted properly.

Anyone can be "identified" as a terrorist.

Just look at your history and what happened when people in charge had "lists" and what happened to those people.

Don't let FEAR drive oppression in this country.

*Sigh* I'm old enough to remember when Democrats pretended to care about due process.

If they are "known" terrorists, why in the hell are they not already under arrest???

These Chicago criminals can simply drive to a neighboring red state and purchase AKs by the truckload, no questions asked. Who knew?

Yep, freaking amazing that people have no clue:

"Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday that she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report, which lists returning veterans among terrorist risks to the U.S."
