If I were to ask the same question, I would compare states that have regressive taxes with states that have progressive taxes.

In Michigan i voted democrat and then libertarian; in Oregon i vote republican.

Michigan Republicans never met a regressive tax they didn't like, while Oregon Republicans hate regressive taxes just as much as they hate progressive taxes.

OP is false and unsupported by the original paper.

The overwhelming majority (65+%) don't register at all.
