Yeah, even we VN guys get "thank you for your service" now. A little late. Frankly, that lack of appreciation never bothered me. What got to me then and still does after a little liquor is the utter waste and futility of all the carnage and destruction I lived through. And the fact that we went and did it again in the middle east like we, as a nation, learned nothing.
As for Ms. Palin, I don't hold her responsible either except to point out that her kids are not good citizens. My complaint is her blaming Obama (or PTSD) for her son's criminal acts.
You know what, it was a disgrace what the veterans went through.. all those college students,, mostly commies hating the soldiers calling them baby killers.. it prolonged the war and many didn't make it home. Those that were fortunate to come home were spit on, chastised and I know a few. Some came back different. They had to hang on to their sanity for what they went through.
It is for nothing at this moment... we went to war with the Objective of stemming the tide of communism.. JFK fought against it.. and now the younger ones want a socialist communist to be president.. what a joke on all those fighting men.. a very bad joke because many are six feet under.
I definitely sympathize with veterans and PTSD issues. But to blame Obama for it is pathetic. She is totally deflecting b/c her violent son beat up his girl and she doesn't want bad press.

Palin's family have been attacked for years.. even their special needs child was being made fun of by the left... they tore her family up daily .. not so with Obama or Clinton by the right.. they have some class..and I am very glad they didn't.. The left thinks it can trash the kids.. Cruz 's children were depicted as monkeys.... the left has no boundaries as far as the family goes, yet they preach a good talk about others being trash.
Walk a mile in a soldiers shoes then you can have a better understanding of what a soldier goes through with PTSD. Always stressed out and it wears them down emotionally and mentally to the point of wanting to kill themselves because it is unbearable the level of anxiety they feel.
Then get your ****ing kid some help, especially when you have the means to do so.
She should just go away, no one would care if she werent so judgmental. She got pregnant, and married Todd(according to reports) , Bristol got pregnant, Track got his girlfriend pregnant, then married her, Bristol got pregnant again while preaching abstinence.

I know many combat veterans and have dated (I cannot remember how many).
Many suffer from PTSD and many have drinking problems. NONE is abusive or violent. My current boyfriend is a combat veteran, I haven't met a guy who is as gentle, understanding, giving, loving, and kind as he is. Oh, He is hot too.
Many believe Marines are wife beaters, and they all have drinking problems. I say that is b.s. There is no excuse for abusive behaviors.
This being said, There was some kind of intuitive understanding that people in combat tend to be irritable in general, and have fewer restraints on their anger. If you send people off to war, it's going to have repercussions.
I will say this, ANYBODY I don't care who, who have seen combat have lost something in the battle field. But not everybody will take out their anger and frustration on others, certainly not everybody will become a serial killer, wife beater.
There are Thousands and Thousands of Soldiers who have been REALLY injured. Limbs amputated, faces blown off, severe brain damage, etc. Many of these soldiers will not abuse their wives or children.
I am very sorry that her son is grappling with PTSD, he must be in very dark place. You know what my combat Marine friends would say, " I never hit a woman even though a few hit me. PTSD is no ****ing excuse for that."
