Weigh the "problem" of gun violence against the problem of being invaded by a hoarde of 7th century savages bent on destruction of your society, raping of you wife and daughter, and elimination of everything you believe in. Which would you pick?

Wife went through it a few years ago. As far as guns, since she is a legal US resident, she can own one!
We went through it also. What was described as a three-year process took over five before my wife was naturalized. Getting her green card took almost 9 months.

The Europeans are simply less barbaric than Americans, is that simple!

Americans are stuck in the mid west of the 19th century. It is no wonder that Americans are a more violent society than the Euro counterparts. The tone of this thread verifies that point.

Slaughtering 20 grade school children and 6 teachers is not the mark of a civilized society either.

America has a lot of guns and a lot of gun violence. So be it. Why do people feel they have to criticize and mock countries that prefer not to arm themselves against the possible threat of violence that most people will never be the victim of?

Tyrants love to disarm nations (see Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Pol Pot, Mao), thus preventing citizens from ultimately rising against them.

Perhaps there will be an increase in the appreciation for the Amercian 2nd amendment in Europe and a realization that an armed nation is the only thing that liberal politicians actually fear.
Let's see what happens now.

Gun laws were based on a stable homgeneous population of neighboring Euros living and working in neighboring countries as we live and work in states other than which we live.

The uncontrolled flood of aliens whose culture is out of the stone age may prompt some changes soon.

Amsterdam was confiscating broadheads in the luggae of bowhunters travelling thru to Africa and other places that allow bowhunting. A bit over the top and intended to make a social statement.

Everytime Europe gets disarmed they get subverted. Think they'd learn.

Kill some one in european countries and get out in short order to go back to the small town where you murdered the guys brother who now has to live next door to the killer.

in NC for example, to buy a handgun, you need to fill out a 4 page federal form called a 4473. You must have 1 Gov't issued picture ID that matches the address you put on the form. You have to pass a federal firearms background check conducted by the FBI, which states that you're buying from a licensed dealer (FFL).

None of this info is top secret. If you're familiar with Google, you can find it for your state.

is that right?

who led the world into not, 1 but 2 world wars in the last 100 years? Who were the original imperialists in Africa and Vietnam?

Europeans have forgotten more about war, bloodshed and genocide than Americans will ever know.

Your history reads like a who's who of genocidal maniacs.
