Sometimes it's fun to just let it play out. The Onion does such a good job of "keeping a straight face" and acting like it's real news that it fools people. Even entire countries. Remember this? Iran's news agency portrays satirical Onion story as its own - CNN.com

Sure there is. A conservative president gets to appoint a judge that isn't an ethnocentric social justice warrior. It's simple enough. Obstruction? Good luck litigating that one.

Not at all. It's the left-wing media who always race-baits. Every day Vox, MSNBC , Salon, etc. has stories that focus solely on race. A simple Google and Twitter search confirms this. Unlike Vox, Salon, MSNBC, etc. Fox News reports news that's not exclusively through the prism of race. I'm talking about their news segments, not their opinion segments such as Bill O'Reilly.

How easy do you think a conservative president would have getting his pick confirmed by a Democratic senate which we are likely to have if Republicans refuse to consider an Obama nominee.

..good luck litigating that one too =)

Stop fantasizing. There will be no take over of the Senate.

Fine. One less conservative to hold us bank. Sounds good to me.

Just FYI, you are not being ignored. Others have already addressed this before you posted. You are referring to one Senator who was not the Majority Leader. Also, the remarks you're quoting were not said during a Senate session or hearing or even when a Supreme Court justice was nominated. Look it up. The Democrats never blocked any Bush nomination. Also, an "extraordinary circumstance" certainly is when one member of the court dies. Never has a Supreme Court gone over a year with a vacant seat.

By the way, this is from the Constitution

"he (the President) shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint ... Judges of the supreme Court."

There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution about waiting until after an election. So it is not only Obama's right to nominate someone in a reasonable time, it is his duty as President. Also, there have been many justices confirmed during an election year, no matter what the GOP candidates said during the last debate. One more fact - more Supreme Court justices have been appointed by Republican presidents for a long time. Until Obama appointed 2 justices, the court was very unbalanced. Even Scalia said he hoped a more liberal justice would be nominated after Obama was elected. He even suggested Kagan and lobbied for her.

You're right, if Hillary or Bernie is the next President. If not, don't count on it.
