Humans are hierarchical social animals and thus classist. Liberals at least are willing to tax us in order to house the poor and non-white Somewhere Else. Conservatives are classist as well but let zoning drive the poor and non-white somewhere else without subsidizing them.

It becomes one of the richest cities in the world!

Honestly just stay away from certain parts of downtown SF if you don't want to see homeless people. It's not hard.

And your 'free market' solution is what, impose rent control, or require employers to hire a certain number of minorities in high paying jobs? Gentrification priced minorities out of expensive cities like San Francisco, liberals did not ship them out.

So... the liberal dream for us all is massive homelessness and poverty?
Many factors: weather, cost of living, other municipalities sending their homeless to SF, a general acceptance of it.

SF also has an inequality problem. Here's a local article on it. Sad to be be on par with Rawanda in income inequality: Income inequality on par with developing nations - SFGate

I'm not so sure this is any liberal dream. That makes no sense. It is capitalism and there are lots of people doing very well. You cannot be poor or middle class here any longer or you may end up homeless.

Nope. Repeal residential zoning restrictions (e.g. allow smaller lots and allow greater density). Residential zoning (protectionist supply control for incumbent homeowners) and rent control (protectionist price control for incumbent renters) are mirror images of each other and should either both be allowed or both be prohibited - government should not pick sides or choose winners and losers by allowing only one but not the other.

Not seeing AZ or NV mentioned there.

Come on Libs pay up and take care of these homeless. Don't you care?
If they weren't already stuck subsidizing the poor in Republican states with federal taxes, they could certainly afford it!

That's not true. Chicago's residential areas are not racially integrated, and public schools have residential boundaries.
