Merrick Garland has a record of being hostile to the second amendment. It is not the job of the SC to rewrite the Constitution.

If this goes past November and Clinton wins he may withdraw Garland, I actually heard one of the senators suggest waiting until the election to see who wins, I don't think that will work.
There are 24 republican and 10 democratic seats up for reelection, if they continue with this we will see how this plays out, 3 democrats and 3 republicans are retiring.
Right now it's 54-45 republican with one independent it could go democratic or close to even.
