That's a good plan, but my system is superior.

It's very simple -- you have a weather dog. When you want to know the forecast, you just send the weather dog outside.

If the dog comes back panting, it is going to be hot.

If the dog comes back cold, it is going to be cold.

If the dog comes back and is covered in snow, it's going to snow.

If the dog comes in wet, it's going to rain.

If the dog doesn't come back at all, it's going to be windy.

The IPCC reports summarise all the published research and the consilience of evidence from many different lines of scientific investigation by thousands of scientists worldwide. What specific research and evidence do you believe they are 'lying' about? And what's your evidence to support making such a claim?

What if your daughter was getting married in your backyard next weekend, the forecast said Saturday 100% chance of rain Sunday 10% chance of rain, what day do you choose?

If you were on the coast of Louisiana and the forecast said a category 5 hurricane is coming to your area tomorrow, are you going to stay?

In reality YOU use and trust our weather forecasts, but you also know that sometimes they make mistakes. Your just using this issue to push the republican corporate agenda of discrediting global warming (combating global warming reduces corporate profits.)
Meet The Climate Denial Machine

And if your really upset about inaccurate weather forecasts then don't vote for the political party that literally causes Americas poor forecasts. The Europeans have much better weather forecasting than America, they have ten times more weather model computer power than we do, and this allows them to run their weather prediction model at a higher resolution.
Why Are Europeans Better at Predicting Weather?

If America spent more money on scientific research we would have better forecast computers. But the republicans block money from going towards scientific research, and they block money from going to government agencies that predict our weather.

But do you want better weather forecasts or supply side/trickle down tax cuts? (You want the supply side tax cuts.)

Well, the point I want to make is these are the same people that are so dang certain the mankind is causing global warming or cooling or oceans rising or drought or you name it.

They don't know squat!

You've just demonstrated that your knowledge of this subject doen't even reach the squat level!

Speaking as someone who sails small (and not so small) sailing vessels for fun, I don't get it either. Having a fairly reliable weather forecast can make the difference between fun/not fun/actually dangerous, and the NOAA is extremely reliable in that respect.

Guess I should just start looking out the window. Who needs GRIB files?

I work on charter boats out of the Mid-Atlantic and we'll run upwards of 100 miles for a days fishing, so needless to say, weather is very important to us as too windy can be unsafe and everybody (including me) likes flat calm. The weather forcasts suck but in reality, I think they do the best they can for something that is unpredictable. The bad ones are the windy forecasts when it is still not blowing and the people call before they leave home 3 hours away to see what we think. those calls have been about 50/50 as you hate to have somebody drive 3 hours and not go, but at the same token, it sucks to cancel and wake up in the morning with no wind. With clients closer to the boat, unless it is blowing that night and the forecast is for wind the next day, we usually just have them come in the morning. If it's blowing, we don't go, If it's still, we'll go.

Back in my younger days I remember us putting faith in the forcasts many nights when they called for wind and going to the bar to spend our earnings for the day, convinced the next day would be cancelled as the giant American flag would be standing straight out and going hard. Many a night we would watch that flag just fall right down the poll come closing time and then reality would sink in. We would be going the next day. Sure can't do those days any more!

I'd really hate to be a weatherman!

Go on, get angry at a functioning part of the government with a budget of around a billion dollars. You know, farming, aviation, shipping, and so many other industries rely on these forecasts and every dollar ends up coming back in one form or another * 1000
