Partly true. No one cares much for imperialists. We are now the world's biggest aggressor nation. We should not be wasting time apologizing for defending ourselves but getting out of the ME. Heck, I would go farther and remove most of the troops from Europe.
I do not think you can fairly our actions with Japan's. I am almost certain much of the hate my father in law felt for the Japanese was due to the abuse of female relatives. It was quite personal. I am sure those who have relatives killed in drone strikes feel the same.
yeah. I agree with you. Too personal for a lot of people. I guess in thousands years, most will forget.
That is why I don't think this tour is good for anybody.
There's something endearing about those "apology" posts, isn't there? No apology whatsoever, but it just doesn't matter - there's a deep emotional attachment to the idea of an apology, and no amount of fact will change that. Like fans of professional wrestling learning it's staged.
Labeling an action "evil" and a "mistake" is certainly pretty close to an apology. I got no big problem with it. Diplomacy (kissing ass) is what world leaders do. But, I say it is an apology. Apologies do not always include the words "I am sorry".
Probably quicker than that. My wife (born in 1959) has no animosity toward the Japanese.
well, I was born in 1985 and I apologize to no one.
this said, as japanese/german, I do think I have a responsibility to make sure history won't repeat itself, for everybody's sake
My brother on the other hand, a Marine, an American, he can care less about the history. Was busy killing enemies, and now is busy running his business.
lol My boyfriend's grandpa is 96, he is a ww2 veteran who loves and adores me. sheesh, that is comforting because life is certainly easier for me.

"Evil" comes from the inscription on the cenotaph. The Japanese inscription. Intended to decry the evil of war. Do I have to try interpretative dance to get that point across?
