Has there been anyone around here talking about banning guns? Banning gun ownership? I haven't noticed it if there is.
We have people playing with definitions and people exaggerating the position of anyone who disagrees with them, and both of those positions are pretty weak. Silly, even. You sound like a bunch of Hillary Clintons, pretending that there is something confusing that must be fully clarified for you.
Congress won't do anything - or much of anything. So those who are so afraid that the US Army will suddenly turn on civilians have little to worry about. But then they never did have anything to worry about.
registration has always led to confiscation. just ask the Jews before WWII started.
Some revolvers, such as the Colt Single Action Army, have to be manually (thumb) cocked to be fired. There's no way these revolvers could be considered "semi-automatics". That's the point I was making. You should have picked up on that. Most modern revolvers are "double action" and can be fired either by thumb cocking the hammer and then pulling the trigger ("single action" mode) or by pulling the trigger in "double action" mode which both coks and releases the trigger (hence the term "double action"). Also considering double action revolvers to be "semi-automatic" is a stretch.
Then say that, instead of putting the widest paint brush on the subject. Sounds like someone actually did some research and found only old firearms that no one is going to be packing today, after being called out, that are black powder and packed with grease to keep dry, antique firearms did need to be cocked. Thus the old phrase, going off, half cocked.
I'm not in favor a taking anything away from anyone. Read what I said.
I'm in favor of taking semi-auto's off the shelf and not selling them to civilians.
Taking my liberty?
Isn't that why we have a 2nd amendment, in the first place?
You're stretching. Ignorant? Really?
Should we allow everyone to buy a stinger anti-aircraft missile launcher so that they can "keep up"?
Again, I am not advocating taking away your M1911.
But I would like no more to be sold to civilians.
I'd like to see the part of the 2nd amendment that says, I cannot have a stinger anti-aircraft missile launcher. Define ARMS, when talking weapons.
I mean really, the revolution, the war of 1812 and the Civil War, had rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air. All fought with the help of Militia.
Is it illegal for the public to buy... or is it illegal for the public to own, a fully automatic machine gun, without government permission?
