Wow. Predictability Pay. Jesus. I don't know why anyone would bother starting a business in this day and age, or opening a branch or moving operations to a place like that.

I'm not saying you can't do it, but it's definitely costing the business, which means less growth, less jobs, competitors beating you out, etc.
Such basic concepts are WAY beyond the comprehension of the typical liberal, especially in Seattle. They're all convinced that every business owner is a millionaire enslaving anyone who works for them and has piles of money just laying around that liberal government can confiscate at will.

The proposal seems pretty reasonable. Making the schedules 14 days in advance and offering shifts to existing employees isn't going to discourage a large company from moving to Seattle. Having to pay extra for unforeseen schedule demands might, but there is no way to analyze that aspect until something more concrete is proposed.

When having kids disrupts your ability to manage your job, then the option should be considered thoroughly before using it.

What people don't understand is that the real minimum wage is $0.00. If the value you provide is less than the government mandated minimum wage, you will not have a job. This is basic economics. It's called a price floor.

Do you think politicians are knowledgeable enough to know where to set wages for millions of workers with millions of different skill sets? I don't and besides its wrong to tell someone else what they are worth.
And so long as there is a tax on our labor, we are all slaves.
