National unity can be difficult and perpetually problematic without assimilation into and overall national culture. Brazil has the most Japanese outside of Japan, the most Italians outside of Italy, the most Lebanese outside of Lebanon. But everyone is expected to assimilate into the overall national umbrella culture of Brazil. That does not mean there are not regional cultural difference in Brazil or that Brazil has not assimilated some of its immigrants cultures or things into the overall national umbrella culture of Brazil.
But a teacher in university I had from India once told me he came to believe the strong cultural differences in India had led to some of the difficulties of unifying the country, in contrast he says the US even with its regional cultural differences is far more culturally homogenous than India is.
Fortunately, to me at least, the atheists and agnostics and liberal Christians aren't f'ing themselves enough to produce enough children to facilitate the reign of their agenda. The Mislims will overcome them in population growth in the future, at least in Europe. Maybe not in the USA.
Even in China, the Hui Muslims speak Chinese, have Chinese names...but they do not celebrate Chinese festivals and go to Mecca each year. They have been there for over 1000 years...
(P.S. I am not talking about the Turkic Muslims such as Uyghurs in China.)
