OP - Thank you for stating a basic premise and belief of The Gospel of Mammon. The Market is our SAVIOR and COMPLETELY SELF REGULATING. Not all that different from claiming the one and only True God controls everything.

Unfortunately for the Believers in either Religion neither is true. First there is no God and no Mammon. There is only humans and only business. The first goal of any business is to monopolize the market so you can maximize profits by keeping prices as high as possible but low enough that no one else can get started. That has worked for thousands of years.

Business may claim to be working in a FREE MARKET but are making damn certain they, and their competitors, control that market to protect their own profits. This applies to the financial sector more than any of the rest. They use the government to accomplish this by bribing or threatening legislators and the executives.

Fortunately for cynics like me there are decent paying careers that bypass the market completely by trading the potential for extreme pay and bonuses for a good income for security and good pensions and health care. I advise anybody starting out today to find a lifetime partner and then find a career with the potential for wealth for one partner and the security of a Federal position for the other. That way they may get rich but they will never be stranded without an income.

Relevance to what I just said: None.

Yeah degregulating all business is awesome, just ask the sub-prime mortgage crash or selling cocaine as teething medicine to babies.

Government caused the sub-prime mortgage crash as they were responsible for the policies that led to such poor lending practices. Not to mention, it is the governments manipulation of the currency with forced low interest rates which is greatly harming the industry and leading to massive bubbles in the economy due to no reality control on the value of currency.

Again, government is the problem here, always has been. Also, you can't point to a business or area of the economy that has been regulated heavy for years, then... deregulate it and point to the problems that come about as if it was the lack of regulation that caused it. It is the regulation that caused the problem and the problems you see immediately upon removal is the result of those regulations. In time, things will righten itself as the market has time to adjust and allow for new competition to evolve.

Nobody is saying there shouldn't be penalties for businesses that violate the liberties of another, but government has no clue about what is best in business and what is best for the people so these regulations often harm the industry and the individual.

Government needs to stop nannying the people and people who think they need a nanny should move to a country that views its people as subjects, not sovereign individuals who are expected to be responsible for themselves.

For the past ten years I have rented crummy rooms in overcrowded houses full of poor childless adults with no hope of getting rent assistance, while watching homelessness necessarily skyrocket around me.
And why is it again you don't have an adult career like almost everyone else? Refresh our memories.

Like I've told you many times, you could move to Sioux Falls South Dakota and get a decent job and easily buy a home and a good community but you refuse to listen. You would rather blame everyone else . A person like he was getting exactly what they deserve. In fact you're probably getting way more than what you deserve.

What tax cuts for the rich? That tired meme again.

Presidents don't create jobs, the market does.

If government wanted to increase home ownership, government could have encouraged the tiny house movement, instead of promoting poor lending practices and the purchase of more home than buyers could afford.

Government chose its poison and promoting sustainable and affordable home ownership is not on government's radar.
