Chaffetz should be stripped of any and all power as he obviously has no ethics whatsoever. He is a totally partisan hack.

Our country is in deep deep trouble with people like this power-crazed jerk in charge of 'ethics' and oversight. This totally reeks of of McCarthyism, and this country will never be unified as long as partisan hacks like this guy are allowed to threaten those attempting to enforce ethics rules and federal law.

"..Jason Chaffetz, the head of the House Oversight Committee, has decided that not only are blatant ethics and constitutional violations now OK but also that criticizing blatant ethics and constitutional violations is not OK.

On Thursday, Chaffetz opted to go full Salem on the nonpartisan Office of Government Ethics, attacking Shaub for having done his job.."

"...the director of the Office of Government Ethics, Walter Shaub, announced at a press conference on Wednesday that President-elect Donald Trump’s “fix” to his ethics and emoluments clause problems didn’t fix anything. Shaub’s job is to enforce government ethics rules and sign off on executive branch nominees’ ethics arrangements, including such divestment as is required..."

...And now, in the wake of Shaub’s announcement, Chaffetz sends the ethics policeman a letter accusing him of unprofessionally blurring politics and ethics guidance. Citing a string of tweets, he demands that Shaub make himself available for the committee to “interview” him (presumably not a public hearing). He slams him for attempting to engage in “public relations.”

Chaffetz criticized for going after federal ethics official who spoke out against Trump | Deseret News

Who knew, one had to give up their entire life they worked hard to achieve, just to say they are President of the United States of America. Is this some intimidation tactic, so anyone in the private sector that has made a name for themselves is to stay out.

I do not think George Washington gave up his business, when Congress was not in session.
