Trump will not learn. He picks Kobach and will likely choose Brownback for positions in his administration. Supply side economics and tax cuts have led to negative state level job growth. You can't cut everything to the bone and give the wealthiest a tax cut and expect prosperity. Trump wants to turn the Kansas experiment into a national experiment.

The Laffer curve was a disproved theory over 25-30 years ago. Kansas implements it via Brownback in 2012 through a state income tax cut for the wealthiest earners in the state. Then, when revenue projections continually missed and job growth percentages imploded, sales tax increases were the result. Many businesses reformed under an LLC umbrella- meaning exempt from paying taxes on income. Trump wants to take the Laffer curve supply-side model and use extreme austerity and will cause a national recession/depression if he tries it on a national level. People have been fleeing the state of Kansas for years and the decline accelerated further once Brownback gained full authoritarian control. If you examine some of the voting patterns in that state, however, the election results were quite split in the areas that had the highest median household incomes as well as educational attainment.

Relax, Trump isn't a one-policy president. He's not only going to try to cut taxes he's also going to launch job creation programs

He is picking people who have positions in Kansas government. As we have seen from that state, everything they have tried for years has been an abject failure. ANY national experiment using supply side economics is also doomed to drastically miss projections.

Infrastructure rehabilitation - bridges, tunnels, highways, etc... You have the workers who find employment, suppliers who get orderflow, the hires the suppliers make, then their disposable income flows through to the retailers and restaurants, etc... And eventually the better infrastructure leads to higher productivity and efficiency in the economy

Yes, one has to look at the big picture, not pick single items out because the single items would not be a success on their own.

Now, Kansas, one of our problems is illegal aliens at a cost of $422 million a year and that is an older figure. Medicaid, already strained here, covers illegal pregnant women from conception to birth. Illegal aliens keep wages down here and have moved into nearly every facet of employment swelling the roles of our citizens who need public assistance. Funding meant for our homeless citizens is being spent on homes where multi-families of illegals dwell.

Kansas has problems but much of the mess was brought to Kansas by Sebelius.

Kansas has lost a lot of industry and industrial parks sit empty having reduced our tax base. People out of work don't make as many purchases, so stores close up reducing sales tax revenues in the cities.

If Trump is able to jump start the economy with OUR help getting OUR elected representatives to get on board, all states will benefit, especially Kansas. I am SO sick of the illegals aliens and their 5 or 6 kids out shopping on our citizens tax dollars while the men they shack up with fill jobs that should be going to legal citizens of the USA.

I am so glad Trump is the president elect, and I will continue to support him throughout his term(s). And, Pence after that!

Incorrect. Brownback compounded Kansas economic problems by going with failed economic ideas that resulted in job losses. Perhaps you should examine your backward economy and why you have so much less in the way of high skill and high wage jobs and the demand/need for immigrants at higher rates in other economic sectors? Or why educated residents keep fleeing the state for better opportunities elsewhere. Colorado economy is doing better than the Kansas economy. There are many reasons for that if you have any understanding of population demographics, in-migration of populations, and emerging economic clusters.

Word on the street is the last thing Republicans in congress want is infrastructure spending. Congress has been saying it's dead on arrival.

"Conservatives do not view infrastructure spending as an economic stimulus, and congressional Republicans rightly rejected that approach in 2009,” said Holler, whose group is the political arm of The Heritage Foundation.
β€œIt would be a mistake to prioritize Big Government endeavors over important issues like repealing Obamacare, reforming our regulatory system and expanding domestic energy production,” Holler said. β€œ
