I hope this isn't the way it appears. But I have yet to hear of anyone but old, fat, white, religious extremist, anti glbt, racist men being proposed for leadership in the Trump administration.
Not one woman, no blacks, no gays? Not even a hint of a moderate White House.
Did we just vote Hitler and the Third Riche into power? I'm pretty sure that's about how the nazis started, with good intentions.
Primarily because a person's status as female, African-American or gay does not now, nor has it ever constituted a professional qualification for any given position, whether the same may be one in the White House or elsewhere.
To pretend that any of these superficial characteristics are in fact professional qualifications, when they most assuredly are not, would open the new administration open to charges of rank, tawdry tokenism, something they would be well advised to avoid.
And there is your answer.
Side note: You managed to nullify any point you may have been trying to make right out of the box pursuant to a corollary of Godwin's Law. (The first participant in an Internet discussion who invokes a comparison of something/someone to Hitler and or the Nazis automatically loses the argument.) In this case, you sank your own rhetorical ship by means of the Godwin's Law torpedo that you yourself launched as part of the original question, for whatever reason.
No diversity? Because Trump promised the KKK element that voted him into office that we were going to "Make America Great Again."
In his simple mind, that means no women, gays, religious diversity nor minorities--or at least as few as he can get away with.
Throw in his effort to close out the fourth estate and one does get the quick feeling that we are dealing with Mussolini.

Instead we see a leaning toward old white men with a history of being hate filled bigots, racists and militants.

Dave, please, don't be ignorant. Half the country is women, but no senior representation thus far. You trying to say that Obama, a Black Man, could in any way be compared to Trump when it comes to qualification and capability? I thought last night as I listened to Obama's APEC News Conference that there is no way a Trump could handle that moment with such knowledge and skill.
My suggestion is that we hire the best and the brightest. Clearly we have not seen that in the Trump selections which have generally consisted of a narrow group of old white men with a history of problems.

His campaign was run by a woman (Kellyanne Conway). His lead spokes person was a black woman (Katrina Pearson). His National Security Advisor is a registered Democrat. Mitt Romney, a Mormon, is likely to be his Sec of State. His most likely pick for Ambassador to the UN is Richard Grenell, an openly gay man.
It's easy to be a Drama Queen when you're illiterate of the facts, isn't it.
