Just because you don't like him as president doesn't mean he's a horrible person. From what I've seen and heard about he and Michelle....I think they are wonderful people. I didn't like Bush as president but I think he's a good guy as well.

So it's not like he walked in and started doing things Americans didn't want. He had been elected by both the EV and the popular vote by a wide margin. He's a good guy who believes in team work. He never called anyone names, raised his voice at anyone.

George W Bush was incompetent and not very bright and did some horrible things to the country. But he's a nice guy. I wouldn't say that I hate him. I hate that he was elected.
Agree with all this, except that 43 was selected, not elected.

Have YOU ever been there? What you are saying is true "as the crow flies", but it is only true re driving if you drive through the mountains and are headed to Oceanside (not very much of the total traffic to and from the coast to Rancho Mirage) and just barely (93 miles). I used to live in Newport Beach, and I know it's at least 110 miles to Rancho Mirage (google maps - 114 miles to Bob Hope Drive and the 111). If you leave the Agua Caliente (adjacent to I-10) in Rancho Mirage and take I-10 into Santa Monica, and jog over to the Santa Monica Pier, it's 131 miles.

Can you cite an instance where he called anyone a derogatory name? Or raised his voice to anyone?

Can you cite any of the White House Correspondents Dinners where he wasn't funny?

I think it's an objective observation that he's a nice guy and has a good sense of humor. He smiles. Anyone with eyes can see that. He's also pretty honest, as far as politicians go.

Same thing with Reagan. Many disagreed with his politics, but he was a likable person who smiled, told a few jokes, had a good sense of humor, didn't call anyone derogatory names or ever raise his voice in anger. A dignified man, even in his jeans and cowboy hat.

Obama's approval rating leaving office is among the highest in history, along with Reagan and Bill Clinton and Eisenhower. Even Bush Sr. had a high approval rating at the end. They were all likable men who would smile and had a good sense of humor.

Yeah. Not at all like, say, Reagan.

But yeah...any President who's funny and pleasant to be around is pretty popular. And that's a good thing! Better than being friends with the Koch Bros.

That obama smiles nice and cracks jokes while bombing seven countries, spying on Americans and raising their health insurance rates, doesn't fool me in the least.
