They are free to sail anywhere on the globe as long as they stay in international waters. Our Navy sails the world.

Yep. The US Military can do anything it's ordered to do in the Pacific. There is no force on the planet that can stop it.

A LOT can happen in 10 years. China's already in trouble cause of its 1 child per family rule. It's already biting them in the butt and, it's gonna get a LOT worse real soon since it's working age pop's dropping in real numbers every year.

Opps. Haha.

I did not realize this entire topic was based on some nonsense from CNN.

This is the same network who helped Hillary Clinton to cheat the televised debates.

You're right.

I don't see a lot of people who understand what China has done to themselves with the one child policy. It's rescinded now, but the damage is already done. They still fine women who have more than 2 children and women who give birth outside of marriage.
They now have the lowest fertility rate in the world at 1.05.

Findings from a 2015 government census show that the average Chinese woman has 1.05 children — a legacy of the one-child policy that changed on Jan. 1 to a two-child policy. It is the lowest fertility rate in the world, according to People’s Daily, the main newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party.

China is doomed.

Interested parties should Google up "China Demographic Time Bomb". There is so much material out there that I won't post a link.

Indeed. China won't go near a US Carrier group.

Yes they will and have.
A Chinese Submarine Stalked an American Aircraft Carrier
A carrier battle group is an amazing projection of power. No question. They also have their weaknesses.
The F-35 of our future will lend to the weakness not help. Relatively short legs.

That is common and you don't know the difference between tracking & confronting. They are called attack subs. Russians have been doing it for decades.

The telling tale here however, is that the US can track the very noisy Chinese subs at will and blow them out of the water if need be. They can't do that with our subs.

If you are attempting to make argument that the Chinese Navy is a match for the USA's, then you only embarrass yourself.

...Or, the Carrier could just out run them. Top speed (hull speed, it is called) of an Aircraft Carrier would be in the order of 45 knots.
Even nuclear submarines top out at 35 - 40.
