Putin never forgets, NEVER, that the United States and Russia are competitors globally. We compete for resources, we compete for influence, we compete for economic dominance. Trump may admire Putin, but he shouldn't forget that Putin's strategy to win in the competition against the United States is long-term.
The U.S. fomented rebellion in Ukraine. The U.S. attempting to overthrow Assad was not a friendly act. Russia is clearly an international competitor and rival, but that shouldn't prevent a decent relationship on areas of mutual benefit. Ally or enemy shouldn't be the only options.

Boy you really do your homework in following these stories up don't you? It was run of the mill malware from one of our patriots surfing porn.

You said this like you know the evidence that definitely proved Putin hacked DNC. If so, show us the evidence.
NO, it's not a possibility.

Why? Because the criticism of the DNC is that the power structure of the DNC supported Hillary over Sanders.

And because the power structure of the RNC certainly had its favorites. Trump wasn't one of the favorites. We all know that.

Maybe you should consider how honest your are, and what it is you're projecting.

Moreover, you are casually ignoring the other aggressive acts that Russia made toward non-Crimean Ukrainian territory. You are ignoring the fact that Russia's actions weren't just a friendly overture to pro-Russian Ukrainians, but that their invasion displaced the balance of power in that region, made Eastern Europe just a little bit more unstable, and was a major aggression by a large country against a smaller, weaker country. It was bullying at its finest.

Assad is a brutal dictator. When he assumed leadership of the country after the death of his father, there was hope that he would be more moderate than his father. But it turns out, that when faced with opposition, he is more than willing to bomb, starve and use chemical weapons against his own people.

Come on, please. You think the RNC is so much more careful. Russia isn't a superpower anymore. Putin would like it to be. And that's why he's not a friend of the United States. For the sake of power, Putin would happily cut our throats.

I don't underestimate Trump at all. His level???? He's a showman, like Barnum and Bailey. He wasn't all that good at real estate (hence six bankruptcies), but he was really, really good at blarney and bluster. The bulk of his fortune is based on him selling his brand. He sells his name. He's very good at selling his name. That doesn't mean he's going to be very good at diplomacy. So far, his tweets say he's going to be very bad at diplomacy.

Very, very bad. One might say an unmitigated disaster.

When will he start 'acting more presidential' as he promised? He's making a mockery of the office and also making America the world's laughingstock.

Someone let me know when he stops tweeting his idiocy like the ratings of Celebrity Apprentice (today).

This is one of the dumbest posts I have seen. Obama hates Israel so much he gave them more money than any other President.

Where is the American taxpayer's THANK YOU from Netanyahu??

Let me know when we hear it. Instead, he thanks Trump who has done . . one ONE damn thing for him.

I agree that ally or enemy shouldn't be the only options, and that when it is mutually beneficial we should be able to work with Russia. But you don't trust a country whose general agenda is to undermine you. And that is the bottom line with Putin's Russia. Because our countries are rivals, he seeks to undermine us at every opportunity. It makes his country appear stronger. It makes him appear stronger.

They manufacture nothing (unless one counts those nesting dolls...LOL). Their economy is hanging on by a thread. They needed puppet Trump and many in the cabinet he put in place to proliferate the use of big oil and to lift their well deserved sanctions because it's all they got and the birther-in chief is beholden to them due to his financial ties to their Oligarchs...which was one of the many reasons that he refused to show his tax returns.

Then Stalin destroyed US/Soviet relations with his adherence to Communism, imperialism, and abysmal human rights record.

Reagan famously ended the Cold War when reformist Mikhail Gorbechev promoted Perestroika and Glasnost.

Putin and George W. were friendly and Putin supported our anti-terrorism efforts after 9/11.

Hillary presented a 'reset button' in 2009.

From personal experience, I speak to Russians often via Amateur Radio and visit with them at IT conferences - they LOVE the united states... they are not our enemy.

So tell me liberals - why all of a sudden do we hate the Russians again? They no longer oppress their people, they embrace and encourage capitalism, and generally fight alongside us whenever major conflicts break out.

is this just an example of "the friend of my enemy (Trump) is my enemy"?

I personally don't understand why we need enemies?

Since the end of our territorial advances, and our bordering nations, realizing we were a force not to be reckoned with, we have forced ourselves upon other nations and created one enemy after another. Woodrow Wilson passed the Nation Building Act and it gets us all up in other nations business and creates an enemy of any nation, that is not some form of democracy. He wanted us all up in the League of Nations and this One World Government idea. Now, we are in the UN, and guess what. They are trying to rule us and the people of the United States, by-passing anything our congress or the states themselves have to say about it.
