And this is what we pay our congresspeople to do...argue over a stupid painting. Back and forth, one puts it up, the other takes it down. Shouldn't they have more important things to do?
For the record, IMO that picture should not be displayed in a public area of any government building.
I agree with the poster who said this is graffiti and not art. It would look more in place on a concrete wall in some run down neighborhood in some urban cesspool. It hardly belongs in the halls of Congress.
Why don't the Congressman who put the picture there just put in his or her office!!
Good question. That is the difference between, as 2dtrickop said, free speech and coopting public property to endorse the views of a small part of the public.
The CBC may have job security given the demographics of the districts they represent, but each time they pull this in your face offensive crap they chase away more of middle America from the Democratic Party.
Looks as if the Black congressman has tried it a 3rd time.
