Lmao... why would spreading the money around to employees instead of hoarding it be a long term problem?

Are you being deliberately obtuse? 'any large employer' is NOT everyone in Seattle, it isn't even most minimum wage jobs in Seattle.

I'd be interested in learning how this law has impacted seniors that have fixed income. Just speculating, but I don't think it would be good for them.

The experiment is over? It hasn't even begun. For one thing Seattle is thriving because of high tech companies who don't pay anyone minimum wage. But the main thing you people always ignore is it hasn't even been 100% implemented yet. The minimum wage IS NOT $15 in Seattle and you want to claim a victory - is that a symptom of the 'everyone gets a trophy' generation?
The doom and gloom has been going on for years now. After several very large hikes in the last couple of years, it is now $15 for large employers and $13 for small employers and unemployment has declined sharply. Seattle is booming, the donor class and the working stiffs who support them are desperately trying to come up with excuses but its not working and the 99% are the winners, not the 1%.

Nope, its now $15 for large employers and $13 for small employers and the biggest wage hikes have already taken place. Anyone with a brain knew that $15 would be implemented gradually and the massive doom and gloom propaganda had been going on for years now. The doom and gloom was predicted at every turn, $10, $11, $12 etc etc. Seattle is thriving. The 99% have won and the propaganda from the 1% have been defeated. You can celebrate.

Well, if $15 is a poverty wage in Seattle then the OP is probably correct.

Not sure why people are acting like $15 an hour in SF, Seattle and NYC would break the bank. It will only have a negative impact in rural areas and smaller cities with a lower COL.

$7.25 federal minimum we have now is a starvation wage. Most Americans support a federal $15 minimum wage by 2020. Thats totally in line with GDP per capita, median full time income, productivity etc.

Fewer and fewer people support the modern day slavery agenda of the donor class who buy our politicians and dont buy into the propaganda shoved down the throat of workers.

On CNBC news it has been reported that casual restaurants have reported slower revenue. Macy's are closing and laying off. How is the minimum wage not affecting their business?

Seattle seems to be booming. You see, in the cities and states with low unemployment and decent wages, Trump lost. His MAGA slogans did not work, because people are doing just fine.

But there is an odd contradiction here. The Trump cult did nothing but whine about unemployment and low wages (for basically untrained workers) during the campaign. Doom and gloom all around. They are demanding he fulfill his promise and bring back high wage jobs (for which they will not have to retrain).

So in a progressive city where this is already underway, the cult now denigrates, complain and declares it doesn't work. They even seem to hope that higher wages will crush the city. Seattle is thriving and has a very low unemployment rate. The minimum wage may be partially responsible for the good economy, and the fact that Seattle is a progressive vibrant city is also responsible.

You would think that the ghost towns in the rust belt that are overly dependent on a dead industry would want to emulate the places doing well, not denigrate them.

So if those people really believe it is a bad thing--why are they demanding the same for themselves? They appear to be very confused and apparently think the solution is to elect a very confused person with the attention span of a flea, who speaks in 140 character sound bites, slogans and reverses policy every other day.

Higher minimum wage increases the number of customers and improves business and ordinary folks have much more money to spend. And they spend it in good ol' America. Not hoarding it like the 1% and spending it in the Cayman Islands and Bahamas. Good for America! Thats how we make America great again! Trickle up economics!

Macy's are just dinosaurs that should die and let innovative businesses take over.
