I don't like Obamacare but what's a good solution for people with pre-existing conditions?

The employment based health care sucks too - if I were to become unemployed, I'd lose my health care.

It's hard to say. I think first I'd like to figure out what "pre-existing condition" is really going to mean.

Pre-ACA, I know that insurers were starting to deny insuring children with asthma, adults with chronic lung disorders such as COPD, basically anything.

I'm not sure how we can have a system that does not insure people with conditions. I realize they are a drain on the insurance. I have an adult son with asthma and it's not a cheap disease if you properly treat it.

I'm wondering how it would work if all people are insured but those that have health risks/risky behavior/chronic health issues pay a higher premium than those with nothing. Somewhat like drivers who have had previous history. They MUST be insured and insurance is provided but at a higher rate.

From what I am hearing from the GOP side thats one of the things they won't touch.

Prices plan has a nice one yo will like. If you lose your job, and can't pay the 1,000 or so a month for insurance, when you get back on the price of your insurance will go up 50% for 18 months.

Its funny,....you don't like Obamacare...until you realize that without it you will lose your healthcare. thats hilarious.

BTW folks, the whole thing about the ACA being repealed last night is very inaccurate and misleading by all parties. The economic budget side was. NOT the plan itself. basically it destroys our insurance with the promise that the GOP has a plan-despite them not having a decent one for the last 8.

And the whole "they voted against the preexisting conditions" stuff is nonsense. They voted against adding non budget bills to a bill that HAD to be about just the budget.

Id take a good close look at Tom Prices plan-hes Trumps guy on this it appears.

Its going to suck.

I don't like Obamacare because most of it is putting lipsticks on a pig.

We can't solve the health care problem without talking about tort report, reducing FDA regulations and introducing foreign investment for more competitions.

Personally, I'd favor a high deductible plan. $5000 or even $10000 out of pocket a year. Insurance shouldn't pay a penny until that deducible is met - no copay, no free immunization, no coverage on pregnancy, none.

Very simple - make Medicare available to everyone. It does not kick people off for pre-existing conditions and won't kick you off if they don't feel like insuring you any more. Only way to get kicked off is by not paying them.

Hopefully people will be required to have coverage with pre-existing conditions with the healthcare they will propose.

And many health insurance experts warn that gutting the ACA while delaying crafting a replacement could lead to sharp coverage drops, even if the repeal is suspended for several years.
Trump adviser Conway says no one will lose health coverage after Obamacare repeal OK- what the politicians are saying- is all over the place--- repeal replace but do not have a replacement- but the budget will balance- OH OH maybe not
what are the INSURANCE companies saying?? really?

Basically your only solutions will be open your wallet, go without, or try to get on a state high risk pool.
