Gee, that's funny... you are suffering with hate for the traffic, but gleeful that liberals are also suffering from the same traffic? The insensate logic of the trumpisst

Yeah i had to smile about that comment too.
There is a huge amount of strange and weird people attracted
to Florida.
I have been to some beautiful places there
but FL always seems a little overcrowded.

We lived in California at one time, and I couldn't afford to live there, and was making good money. I make less here and live so much better.
I agree, but this thread is in the political forum, not in the FL forum. The OP made a statement that a Republican governor can run a state better than a Democrat and national statistics prove that to be untrue.

I voted for Alex Sink, although she wasn't a great choice either. Funny, we're talking about Florida's governor and it just occurred to me that he won in 2010 by a small margin because we had 2 candidates who weren't very popular. Sound familiar?

Guess you've never driven through Atlanta or Houston.

It's a ridiculous comment, by the way. Not every area in CA has traffic congestion. The cities in the U.S. with a lot of congestion usually have the most people driving to work. As Don stated above, much of Florida's road congestion is due to snowbirds and tourists. I'm currently in a rural area where there is no traffic. I can go out now and drive to the supermarket and back and see one or two cars (maybe) on route 64. However, there are also few jobs and not a lot of amenities.

Moved from NY to Florida.
Property taxes are 1/3rd of what I paid in Ny and include garbage pick up. That was 120 a month service in NY alone.

People here are pleasant.
They say Merry Christmas. not happy holidays.
Palm trees with Christmas lights-coolest thing I have ever seen!
Guns aren't demonized.
Fire works are legal!!! Set mortars off all night long New Years and 4th of July (SKYKING FTW)
Where I live is a tropical version of Poughkeepsie. Just free.
Want to move to Ockeechobee. Minus mountains, snow, replace the oaks and pines for palms, that's just like where I called home in NY.

Complaint I have about Florida. State has no real industry.
Customer service, tourism, retail, and few skilled trades...

I love it. Left that socialist over taxed liberal oasis and moved to America. Beaches are great. Tiki bars. These orgasmic things called Cuban sandwiches! No helmet law, jump on the bike and go up and down A1A and out to Ockeechobee. Freedom.

Then. There's these things they call palmetto bugs... No it's a cockroach on steroids. The Florida born think it's funny, and go Oh but we don't have mice in our houses!

Yeah no chit, the roaches ate them! And fire ants. They're the Ahole of nature. Then there's winged death, whatever they are, it's a wasp with a 1/4 inch long fish hook hanging from it's butt. Need Kevlar and trauma plates to take them bad boys on. Sister had them in her back yard. Filled their hole with gasoline and lit off a Roman candle at it. Left a 3 foot diameter crater in her back yard, I regret nothing.

It truly is heavens waiting room...
If retirement doesn't get ya, if an 80 year old half blind in a cadillac doesn't clobber you, an alligator doesn't get you, a shark doesn't get you, this ungodly hot summer doesn't get you, "Florida man" doesn't get you, a hurricane might...
