It seems asking Trump to back up his words is too much? Heavens no!
"We'll see what happens", lol, nothing, and you know it.
Both McConnell and Trump are backing away from the allegations about illegal immigrants voting. Now they seem to be focusing only on the voting registrations that have resulted from clerical errors.

McConnell indicated this investigation would be a waste of money but Trump wants to proceed.

actually trump seems to be doubling-down, claiming fraud well beyond poorly maintained data. from the o'reilly interview:
“When you look at the registration and you see dead people that have voted, when you see people that are registered in two states, that have voted in two states, when you see other things, when you see illegal people that are not citizens and they are on the registration roles..."
Voter fraud, sanctuary city officials, rioters, the Clintons, and members of the Obama administration (including Obama) will all be prosecuted by Trump's attorney general.
Trump continues to insist that "illegal people that are not citizens" have voted.
Last I heard, this was based on the claims of Gregg Phillips, a wandering hustler, who has a voter fraud "app." He stated on TV a week or so ago that as soon as he runs the "analytics" and "verifications" he will present information on millions who voted illegally.
As far as I'm aware, the only two cases of voter fraud have been people who voted for Trump twice. The one in Ohio said she did this because she was afraid the election was rigged. The one in Texas claimed that he was "testing" the system.
Four voters in North Carolina have filed a defamation suit against a Republican Party committee chair for filing post-election protests with the elections board that contained "inaccurate and defamatory statements."
"After the 2016 general election, at least 85 people across North Carolina were accused of voting in multiple states or being ineligible to vote because of a felony conviction, according to the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, the legal team behind the voters’ defamation suit. "Each of those challenges was thrown out."
"Unsupported claims of widespread voter fraud have been cast out and debunked, but linger in political debate"
"In North Carolina the post-election protests listed voters by name, publicly and erroneously accusing them of crimes."
Apparently, this is not exactly an unusual occurrence in North Carolina. However, this time voters are fighting back.
Allison Riggs, Senior Voting Rights Attorney at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice. “We want to send the message loud and clear that it is wrong to intimidate voters by accusing them of committing a crime without having any evidence to support the claim.”

Yeah, they don't understand they aren't dealing with Obama anymore. Obama always gave everyone a running start, explained what he might do. Trump will just let justice move forward in silence.
I guess if one is going to administer "discipline", it is best to give them a running start.
Frankly, I never considered voter fraud a priority, and that can be taken care of outside the first 100 days for sure. We'll cut voter fraud in the future by expelling illegal aliens and we are getting down to business on that! That is a start, a GREAT start!
Boy, I had no idea the Democratic Party had become so pathetic during the time that Obama was in the White House. I had voted twice for Bill Clinton, but I am surely done with it for good now.
Backs away? No, there are a million other things happening simultaneously, taking your focus away from the big picture. No one has backed away. There is just more added to the plate.
Oh, I see.
All of the big promises ain't gonna happen. But that has nothing to do with being "suckered".
Hmmm.
