I assume Mo has 2 branches with a senate and House ? Did they not pass the law?

Usually Governors like in TX are not that powerful. They just sign or veto the laws that are sent to them. If the people did not want, why did their representatives create the law?

Union shop arrangements are in contracts freely negotiated between union and management. Why should Big Government step in and tell management which contracts they can and can't enter into? Hypocritical Republicans!

Because many unions themselves have become "big government" in their own right. They negotiate for what's in their best interest first (especially public sector unions) often driving up costs well beyond where they should be.

Exactly.

When contractors and subs all have to pay the same union-negotiated wage, it makes no sense to hire illegals.

Right-to-work-for-less invites employers to hire illegal labor.

So you'd be in favor of stopping Illegals from crossing the border so those jobs go to citizens and pay does not deteriorate?

I hate to burst some peoples bubble but, Texas is a right to work state, has been for a long time now, and guess what we still have unions and certain fields are still dominated by unions. So if you think this kills off unions you are for a big disappointment.
Another point to keep in mind, with right to work laws you have the right to work anywhere but at the same time companies can fire/layoff workers with zero explanation or cause to do so.
Pay wise, it is about the same as it always has been so one should not expect either and increase or decrease in their pay.

The government can decide, "we will not enter into any more closed shop contracts with public sector unions". Government does not have the right to dictate that to private enterprise.

.

At will allows firing at any time. The entire USA is at will.
RTW just avoids forced unionization of individuals.
