Not that I like megapolitan California commutes, either, but at least a lot of communities in CA are reasonably prosperous, have good schools, etc.
Prosperous? Yeah if you're filthy rich and able to afford million dollar condos or single family homes. I bet most people in California are suffering because that state is overpriced, overtaxed, and has too many regulations. Why a huge amount of people flee that state. A lot of school districts aren't that great either.
No mountains or streams have been destroyed let alone "lots" of them.

Which makes coal more expensive.... since you can't just leave the area an environmental mess. Coal simply isn't cheap when you stop subsidizing pollution. Is it a war on coal making companies responsible for their actions?
No, I don't see it as so. There is no reason to further attack coal though. It's day's are numbered on it's own. There will be no new coal fired power plants.

Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington added 116,800 non-farm jobs over the year, the agency reported.
That trailed only the New York-Newark-Jersey City area, which added 181,700 jobs, and the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim area, which added 149,600 jobs.

Things will naturally work itself out.
It doesn't matter if you don't see it as so as that is what happened. Cleaning up mining adds cost, which is passed on to consumers.
So the photos and satellite images showing they're not are just made up? I really have no words for your denial of the reality around you.
I explained the problems with the photos.
