What an ugly, racist, classist, ignorant thread.

For starters, less educated blue collar workers are the ones that have suffered most by wage stagnation and illegal immigration suppressing said wages.

Highly educated people like myself never see the downside, we just get our houses cleaned, our lawns mowed etc cheaper.

The fact that the corporations have subverted the democratic parties former allegiance to blue collar workers is appalling and that their rabid loyalists now call those people stupid, racists is the ultimate insult.

What a shameful thread. My grandparents cleaned houses, worked factory jobs, sold chicken eggs, drove trucks and tended bar to make ends meet. My parents did the same. Many of them voted democrat, some life-long....it's upsetting to read how complaining about your wages and the corporate on-shoring and off-shoring now makes you a racist.

Anyone here actually see the media spin the corporations have put on this one? ugh.

Illegals with no accountability do this work for half the price yes, it's a bargain, but there are no bonds, no insurance, and no way to recoup your loss if anything happens or anyone gets injured. Is that the direction you want America to go in? Illegal slave labor taking over the trades. That will come at a big cost in the long run. Not to mention no labor laws for those illegal workers, and they get treated like crap. How moral is that?

Those securities you think Hilary was going to give are a joke for the working class. They've been a joke because they only serve those who don't work and are on welfare or coming out of jail. She wasn't going to save the working class. Most Americans make an average of 50,000 a year. They can't afford to pay for anyone else, that's just a fact. They can't afford to move around the country for work either. They can't afford to take time off to train in another field. They can't afford those health premiums either.

If telling yourself that only stupid people voted for Trump makes you feel more secure then that's your lie. Here in reality there was a clear reason Trump won, if you'd take time to listen then you'd understand. Then you could encourage your party to stop ignoring half the country, stop calling them stupid and maybe have a chance next time. If Trump does half of what he says though, you won't have a chance.

Did you even read what I wrote at all?? I'm the one arguing plumbers, electricians and the like, aka, skilled trasdemen are doing well and we should be teaching more trades to young people...but keep up with the strawman argument...

IF Hillary's safety net was a joke- you must really hate Trump's total lack of any social safety net...or is it ok b/c lavishing tax cuts on the rich is ok done on the back of the working and middle class b/c......trickle down???

We'll see what he does for your healthcare! I saw people at a town hall today, saying to FIX OBAMA CARE, not repeal it.

We always use licensed plumbers, electricians, etc. They do the best work!

I'm good with fixing it. I voted for Obama, and wanted his public option that we didn't get. I'm not opposed to just making it affordable for hard working people. I'm glad to here you used licensed trades!

"Trump's appproval rate among whites...."

What about his approval rate among non-whites? With what is it correlated?

Can it be worse than the $700 a month i pay now?
I don't care how they spin it, repeal, fix, etc. Let's make it affordable for everyone.

Why do you continually ignore the fact that it isn't just low skilled jobs that have left/are leaving?

One anecdotal example? There are WAY more than just one individual with essentially worthless advanced degrees. They "claim" to be highly educated, but society values neither their knowledge nor skills so they earn very little.

Again...here is the data, from reputable sources. Not "fivethirtyeight.com".

Education at a Glance 2016 - OECD Indicators - en - OECD

Notice how more education = higher earnings until one obtains a professional/advanced degree? Notice also how the less educated one is the more likely they are to be unemployed?
So... Why do liberals claim Trump supporters are under-educated? They earn more on average than Clinton supporters.
