LOL...some of their measures are pretty creative and equally hilarious.

Issa isn’t alone in wanting to sidestep confrontations with angry voters, especially of the kind that can be recorded on an iPhone and uploaded to Facebook and Twitter in seconds. Some of the GOP’s more inventive deflections, diversions and dodges so far include:
Publicly canceling a scheduled town-hall event because you “didn’t want to meet until all the president’s nominees were confirmed,” then showing up anyway, to talk solely to your conservative supporters, who somehow still seemed to know you would be there (Mo Brooks, R-Ala.)

Too bad Dems werent that fired up to vote once in PA, WI, and MI rather than protest at town halls every time.
think these are all dems? no-- but in either case, it's the repubs in office -so the public must speak to them-they can run but they cant hide-- and I encourage more calling and emailing etc., until the get a migraine.
I am not a fan of Mark Sanford - not because of his politics, but because he disappeared from his job and flew out of the country to be with his mistress at the time. I don't respect any person, Democratic or Republican that would make that choice.
BUT.......I did not attend the town hall near me but I have read nothing but good things. In quotes and videos I have seen he said all the right things. He was there for four hours.
There is a HUGE lesson for Republican politicians. I'm an Independent and next time I won't throw up in my mouth thinking of Sanford as representing me in politics. (A little dramatic but give it to me okay).
Seriously -- this is how you represent the people.
On the other hand -- nothing Tim Scott has done shows me anything but his interest in his concern for HIS position in Washington DC.
As a former San Diegan who is conservative, I have a big ax to grind with Issa. He is behind alot of the games at the USPS that has put small US businesses at such a shipping disadvantage to foreign companies shipping here.
These protests at the local level are so important. They let your local representative know how we feel, and that we expect them to do the right things.
I bet a lot of these local guys are feeling the heat.
As legislators hold stealth town hall meetings or refuse to hold meetings at all, there are meetings being organized and held all over the country by grassroots groups of Indivisibles.
Indivisibles are composed of volunteers of all political viewpoints who don't want to see our nation lose the progress we've made.
They're putting up Facebook pages and holding town hall meetings, often without elected officials.
"Democracy is like a muscle. You have to work it a bit to keep it strong."
Congressional Republicans are not the poster children for strength these days...
It was curious how after Trump's press conference last week, reporters could barely find a Republican who would admit to watching. Committee meetings and such, you know.
Looks to me like they're lying low, waiting for the feathers to settle before committing themselves to something they can't walk back.
Or when it was the Tea Party working to reform their party as opposed to the opposition just wanting to be seen it worked
