Undocumented is what their employers call them when they get caught employing them.

It's equivalent to the difference between used rental cars and "prior rental savings."

Yes, we actually have a car dealership in my town that refers to used rental cars as "prior rental savings."

" What Does Undocumented Immigrants Exactly Mean? "

Unless someone lost their papers, there really is no such thing. They are illegal aliens.

Illegal was the word until it became non pc. Now it's undocumented.

It's someone who came here illegally or came legally but stayed past their visa, illegally. We in Massachusetts used to call them illegal aliens.

If you are LEGAL, you have paid your dues and you earned a green card and the right to live and work here. It's almost the same as being a US citizen.

There is no difference.

Replacing "illegal" with undocumented is just a brainwashing technique designed to get people to think differently about and be more sympathetic toward illegal aliens. Ppl are more likely to be sympathetic toward an "undocumented" immigrant than they would be an illegal alien.

It's the same thing with gun control. Now, we have gun "safety" advocates, not gun control advocates. They are advocating for the same exact things, but it's just that gun "safety" sounds better and makes people who oppose it seem extreme, because who would oppose "safety"....?

Don't allow yourself to be misled. It's psychological propaganda.

The vast majority of people label illegal aliens as undocumented. However the only non-illegals who are "undocumented" are as a prior poster pointed out, those who have lost their passports generally. So there is a HUGE difference, but everyone tends to use the wrong words. And words sometimes matter, this is one of those times.

They are criminals. The ONLY ones I sympathize with were those brought here as kids. Even then I am somewhat suspicious of WHY they were. So...shrug. Theres a huge difference, just everyone is using the term wrong.

Just throwing this out there, but maybe people are referring to undocumented workers? Plenty of people enter this country legally, but without the papers to work. It's common along the border, people come and go, US and Mexican citizens do every single day. We go back and forth to shop and visit. One is an undocumented worker when we stay and don't have the papers to work in the country, and work there. An illegal alien would be someone who did not cross legally, go through customs, whether they were going to work or not. To someone not living in a border state I guess it can be confusing. We do have people who cross the border every day (each way), it's a very busy area.

Zilch, nada.

It's just a term to attempt to couch illegal aliens in palatable terms.
