Keep telling yourself that. Hillary or a self-described Socialist? Don't think either had a chance after 8 years of a Community Organizer. Change was coming regardless of who the Dems put up. Trump, for how dumb you all claim he is, played it perfectly.

Hillary wasn't a socialist she was a crook. She and Bernie Sanders are nothing alike. Did Hillary have an enthusiastic audience in rallies? No she didn't. Did Bernie have an enthusiastic audience in his rallies? Yes he did. That is the proof Bernie is not Hillary.

As I said, you had Hillary (crook) OR Bernie (socialist). Not exactly appealing candidates outside of the Right and Left Coasts

But Bernie Sanders had a enthusiastic just like Trump. It's that enthusiasm which allowed Trump to win even thought he didn't get as many votes as Hillary. Bernie was polling better then Hillary in the spring before he was folishly forced out by the Democrats. It stands to reason that Bernie would have won. One of the biggest reasons Trump won was due to his claims of draining the swamp. How would he have said this when Bernie Sanders was clearly not part of the swamp, and also wanted to clean it.

Considering that in the eyes of many Hillary was a crook, it was a weak win for Trump. Certainly nothing to brag about.

The post says if democrats don't change their platform and methods, they will have to get used to losing in most red states which are growing based on the last Trump win.

Wow. Big message. Let's see if we see any changes..
What is happening is nothing new. Both political parties have had their ups and downs over the years.

Whenever one of the political parties wins big, they seem to think they can do whatever they want. But they often go to far and they wind up loosing moderates/independents as well as energizing the other party's base.

People are angry and they want change. The Republicans won last November because it was the Democrats who actually put up the Establishment candidate. But if the Republicans think that they can ignore Trump's campaign promises on illegal immigration and 'free trade' and instead only do their regular BS - "we need to cut taxes on the rich because they are the job creators" blah, blah, blah, they are going to be very sorry.

Bernie Sanders had such an enthusiastic base he couldn't win the primary. That's because the young people that supported him are exactly the type of people that won't vote

LOL don't you remember when this was said about the republican party. Unfortunately there will always be a 2 party system. I wish there was a viable third. Democrats win and lose just like republicans win and lose. I'm a moderate democrat and why would I leave the party. Moderates on both sides have been voted out. And this is what the problem is in this country. There is no more compromise which hurts all of us. And with Trump in office this is only the beginning of the turmoil within the republican party. They don't like him and they don't agree with his tactics but they want to get their agenda passed. So they have placated him and turned a blind eye this first month. I don't expect it to last though. Trump is saying things about our allies that just aren't true and they have responded to his lies. There is only so much the republicans in office can put up with before Trump becomes a detriment to our country

As I said above Bernie Sanders never won the primary because the Democrat establishment made the mistake of chosing Hillary over him despite all her controversies and lesser poll numbers. Young people didn't vote for hillary because she gave them no reason to be enthusiastic.
