It was more than just screaming a racial epithet it was the threat to kill all the partygoers, pointing guns at them and then going on to "terrorize" the neighborhood Walmart. It was a hate crime.
According to police at the time of the incident, officers responded to a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. concerning a group of trucks flying rebel flags traveling southbound on Hwy 92 from Paulding County entering Douglas County.
Officers followed the convoy for a distance and did not see any criminal or traffic violations, but shortly afterward were notified there was a heated argument between two groups of people, including those with the convoy.
Funny how that the call was made and yet they were not seen doing ANYTHING ILLEGAL but then AFTER the cops left they SUPPOSEDLY did.....Why make a call then if they weren't doing anything?
Convoy riders said somebody at the party threw rocks at the trucks, forcing one to fish-tale and pop a tire. They said the convoy then pulled off the road near the party residence when the confrontation escalated.
Shocker....no one from party was charged with assault with deadly weapon just the people driving their vehicles.

What part of this do you find strange? Someone saw a bunch of trucks flying Confederate colors entering the County and called the cops. This is called being proactive..you see..the cops aren't just for after the fact--they like it when they can prevent a crime.

As there were no reports of any 8 year olds with Uzi's---no party goers were charged.

I think the pointing of the shotgun probably weighed more heavily than the racial slurs.
Martyrs? Surely not--just not a sympathetic crime or ideological up side.
Since link didn't bother to post the actual ruling.. I have to ASSume.. that some charges were enhanced and possible "Consecutive versus Concurrent " applications. It really helps to try and understand headlines, when zero link to ruling occur!
Using gun's to commit any crime always enhances whatever it is. Then of course the #'s of victim's involved.. so who knows how many actual counts were involved as each and every VICTIM has standing!
Let it be understood, despite DT disavowing PC.. Does NOT give license to commit HATE crimes !! Laws are their for a reason... Just because you have loopholes to access GUN's or ASSSault rifles.. does not give anyone carte Blanc to terrorise anyone who happen to HATE!!
It's obvious.. what these people did was proven to be a HATE Crime and the USE of Gun's enhanced it... .. Best people realize Right's should be appreciated and UNDERSTOOD that their are RULES. Just because you own gun's doesn't automatically make you some sort of a Populous Patriot army fighting like 200 years ago!! SMH

Driving a truck with ANY flag is not a crime. I see trucks and suv's like that here every single day. Doesn't bother me in the slightest and certainly doesn't bother anyone here enough to call the cops for some unknown reason.
And Urban-Monster who actually murder people get plea-deals, sentenced to 10, out in 4.
