looks as if Trump admin is putting out exactly the story an admin would put out given the situation.

I would hardly expect them to say "they are fighting it out" or "yeah it is tooth and nail."

NOPE.

This is exactly the message Trump team wants.

The reality is Trump's first 11 weeks have been a disaster on a scale we have not seen in our lives. Trump has the lowest public support for almost any modern president in early first term.

It is a disaster for America and a disaster for the Right. All 3 and they can't organize a thing.

So, he might well gain more than he would lose.
This. Start actually cleaning house and he could become hugely popular. Throw out the completely unqualified suck ups (okay, that'll never happen - Trump's personality disorders require that he surround himself with suck ups). Get rid of the racists and crazies. Bring in some people who actually have the first clue what they're doing.

If he keeps going the way he is though, he'll be lucky to break 40% of the vote in 2020. Racists, idiots, delusional cult followers, and assorted truly deplorable human beings are not a large enough part of the population to get him re-elected.

So what? He can create a new base from the center of politics instead of catering to the foaming at the mouth far right loonytoons who think banning a religion, and building a massive wall are viable governing policies.

If Trump were to ditch the racist ignoramuses, the conspiracy theorists, and the Russian puppets he stands a chance at becoming a good president. He would be remembered as the president who saw the light and worked for the good of the nation ... and ALL Americans. Oh, his bigoted base would cry ... but screw em.

The hatchet won't be buried unless it is in one or the other's skull. My money is on Kushner. Ivanka is daddy's little girl. Blood first - always.

That will never happen, or we would have elected Jeb.

Yup.
Thursday's reports hinted at a peace pipe was being prepared. Friday's reports hinted Trump forced both of them to a come-to-Jesus set down between them to hash it out once and for all.

Now Saturday's reports hint that the set down failed.

My bet is Trump will choose family first. Ivanka's most obviously his favorite child, and that alone puts her husband a few notches up in this matter than the others.

His base? Trump doesn't worry about his base. He knows all he has to do his hold a rally and all is well once again with his voters. That won't change until he throws a rally and no one shows up for it.

LOL.

Bannon will be the loser in this battle. Bannon is already off the security council. And its not over between Bannon and Kushner, especially with Ivanka backing Kushners positions rather than just being a silent daddy's daughter that happens to sleep with Kushner.

Bannon is an ideologue. Trump, for all his failings, is not.

Exactly.

The idea that Bannon got McMasters up to speed on national security issues is preposterous.

What would McMasters be learning about national security from the editor of an alt-right website?
