Oh, please. It's laws that allow the airlines to get away with crap like this. They are the direct beneficiaries of the government, in this instance.
Don't "oh please" me when I specifically called out lobbyists and our crony capitalistic system that allow these laws in the first place, its like you just want to argue for the sake of arguing.
"Fly the Friendly Skies"? ... any 'friendlier' and they would have been carrying him out in a body bag.
United should let their own 4 employees find another flight instead of kicking off paying customers. The responsibility for this goes straight to the top. I for one have made a note to never fly United again if there are alternative carriers.
I once flew on a Delta flight with a couple of crew from United who could not be accommodated by their outgoing flights being all booked solid. They know how to do it they just didn't bother this go-around.
Most airlines operate a "gentleman's" agreement that allows for open seats to be used by other flight crews to get where they need to be if there is no other way to avoid just this type of happenstance.
Oh please it is the law allows the airline to get away with crap like this.
It is really the bottom line. Legally, they have the right to remove you even if you are a paying customer. However, as soon as they put their hands on you and causing you bodily injury, that is a game changer.
I would too, your second paragraph, but the airline got their ass covered. They have the right to remove him.
You can ask your lawyer, like I said. The airline is not LEGALLY wrong to remove him, they are wrong of putting hands on him and causing him bodily injury.
Agree to disagree. I think UA is wrong on both counts.
Hah! And now they're bringing up his past LOL. Poor guy. They're giving him the full Black-Teen media treatment. Dirty pool indeed.
Corporation can't defend their actions? Well, then let's DESTROY the complainant... Sure didn't take long for them to hire a media relations "fixer" did it?
Bet the fee they're paying that firm would've gotten anyone else off the plane in a minute!

I don't know, if that stuff is true, it might make sense as to why he was the "random" selection to get removed. Take off the drug dealing, convicted felon. Makes sense to me now, he probably reacted that way because he thought he was being arrested for similar crimes again.
