fun fact. Approx 99% of the 9th districts decisions match or are the final decision. That is a FACT.

The SC only hears 80 cases per year but gets 7,000 requests. This might be one of those cases eventually and with a conservative majority could be overturned.
It might be if that is what they are doing but they are not. The Feds can come and pick up every illegal they can find in any of these cities. No one is stopping them.
No one is stopping these cities from raising taxes to fund their local governments, either. It's one thing if they can't or don't enforce immigration policy, but sanctuary cities are actively going to ignore that aspect of the law, if not outright undermine it. They're cherry-picking when they want to be federalists.

Until they have their day in court they are no different than anyone else in the eyes of the law.
If they're not legal U.S. citizens, and yet they're living here, they're here illegally. It doesn't take a trial to determine that.
Trump did not have a leg to stand on with his EO. As the judge said, Congress says who gets the money, not the President. If Congress wants to attach strings and qualifications for federal bucks, they can do that. Trump can't.
They said that the state had standing because they suffered a harm, because some interns and prospective employees were delayed in getting to a state university. There are reaches. Then there are reeeeeeaaaaaaaches. Then there's that.
Not really. Even the insinuation of it has harmed schools, with overseas students declining. Standing wasn't a difficult part here for folks.
When these sanctuary cities have an earthquake, who care more about illegals rights instead of Tax Paying Americans rights, let them ask Mexico for help.
The idea of sanctuary cities is flawed. What truly makes a city a "sanctuary city"? Is it a city with the perception that they help illegal immigrants or is it actually metric-based? Also how can you legally find illegal immigrants who are not pulled over for police or involved in accidents? Otherwise it is a constitutional issue.

No, it's a ridiculous reach. How has the school been harmed, exactly? Yeah, I'm sure that Somalians not being able to come to the school for three months will cause the place to shut down. And how does that show that the state has been harmed?
The judges wanted to uphold the restraining order so they just put together some silly mess. You know it, they know it, and I know it. But the ends justify the means, of course.
