Considering that there are immigrants and native citizens amongst us, the absolute statement "we are a nation of immigrants," is false!
It's not an absolute statement. It's a reminder that immigrants founded this nation, and that our culture is the product of their immigration, and the immigration of millions and millions of others around the world. It reminds us that people coming to this country will become part of the tapestry that is our heritage, and in the process of merging with that tapestry, they will change it, for good or bad. Our culture, our heritage is constantly evolving, and a key part of that evolution is immigration.
No, 86.5% is significant. A total of 13.5% is extremely small.
If I had $100, and gave you $13.50, you would say that you got a "significant" amount of money? No, you wouldn't.
And if I told you that you had cancer and that it had taken over 13.5% of your body, would you say that cancer had consumed a significant part of your body?
You want to make fake comparisons, I can play, too.

No, I wouldn't. I would think that 13.5% is small and there's a chance to eradicate it.

The roots of all of us are from other places. If our ancestors had not taken the leap we wouldn't be here.
I have numerous ancestors who arrived in pre-colonial colonies 17th century, but also many who arrived in the 18th and 19th centuries. I am proud of them all. Without their immigration I would not be here today, I wouldn't even exist.
This is truly a nation of immigrants, a mixed composition continually improving.

Boy, you guys really do have a distorted view of reality, don't you ?
Yes, Don, you do have a distorted sense of reality.
No one is denying where their ancestors came from. No one is ashamed of their roots.
The Amerindians' ancestors were also immigrants. You apparently think that they just sprouted up from the ground.
