Wait until they all get vouchers and they send their kids to private schools where they will get the meals Michelle Obama was advocating for...all of a sudden it will be a brilliant idea.

I see it thrown in the trash everyday at work.
Students also take only one thing from the lunch lady, not the whole lunch offered, because they don't like it.
I hear quite often how they do not like the lunches.

Wasn't that way before the change.

Do you know how you get a cow to make weight so it can be slaughtered sooner? It's grain. Do you know how to make a kid fat? Grain. What's the most important thing on a food pyramid? Grain. Who's in charge of grain? Department of Agriculture. Who is in charge of health? Department of Agriculture. Huh? Yup. It should be Department of Health like other countries.

Whole grains are packed with nutrients, including protein, fiber, B vitamins, antioxidants, and trace minerals (iron, zinc, copper, and magnesium). A diet rich in whole grains has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer.

That's why the push for whole grains and not the grain you feed cattle....which is what the kids get now.

Wait a minute... Can we confirm whether or not these are the same Republicans who want to mandate that adults who are getting fed by the govt should be restricted to rice, beans, and potatoes?

Another thing I find backwards is that (in my gsons school) they limit the amount of serving. So if it is something the kids will eat they will throw out food before they will allow a student a second serving.
Not getting enough food (calories) was also a complaint in some school districts. Some students may be overweight but many are involved in multiple sports and easily burn up the restricted caloric intake of the provided lu
nch.
Good points.
Yes, I have seen food thrown out verses give the kids more.
I also see them running out of food.

Yes, the kids are hungry for lack of calories and a good substance of food.
And it's hard to concentrate on school work when you are hungry.

My oldest is 28...since he was 2 and a half I helped out with snacks, lunches, parties, etc.

We did things like veggies and dip, fruit and dip and the kids went crazy for it...they thought it was so much fun.

You can make good food for kids.

Look -- this isn't about kids eating healthy -- this is about the republicans pullling back on a democratic initiative. The democrats play the same game.

It's silly -- I hope -- oh boy -- another thing checked off of Trump's do list. What a guy
!
You are wrong here.
It is alot of parents, who have been asking for awhile for the lunches to be changed.
