Cancer treatment, mental health, substance abuse treatment, and AIDs/HIV treatment are paid via taxes.

Universal Healthcare for the disabled, individuals in the military & their immediate family, those 70 or older, Veteran's at VA facilities, and Native Americans.

Yay or nay?

Yes, I believe that people should buy health care for themselves. I don't think it is the function of the government, except for those born with severe handicaps.

How about we just have Medicare for all? Seems like the easy choice. And if you want supplement, then you can have a supplement private plan.

Preventative treatment saves BIG $$$ in the long run. The way our for-profit health system works now people are afraid to use it because of deductibles, etc.

Still have private insurances. These treatments and certain U.S. populations receive universal care funded by taxes.

Only thing I control is my own reaction.

Not enough about this bill is known to have an opinion.

No telling what the Senate will do with it.

And then it's back to the House.

Yay to that or similar.

I am for a base policy for all, that has the potential to reduce longterm problems for really costing big $$.

After the base policy, you can buy whatever supplement you want that covers the extra similar to Medicare b,d,f,g and the others.

If nothing else, someone who goes to the hospital with this base policy, the hospital at least gets some payment--even if the patient stiffs for the rest.

Substance abuse is not a handicap. It's a poor life choice. If I feed the bears whilst there is a sign right in front of my face stating, "do not feed the bears," and proceed to get my arm bitten off, should you pay for my medical bill?

Only if I can opt out.

Otherwise no.

Pay for your own stuff.

well we have more public healthcare than that already.

but the real way to do it, it super easy. put everyone on the basic plan and let employers top it up to great plans. everyone who works pays in, every employer pays in end medicare, medicaid veterans.

just put 100% of the pop on one plan, it works. and we know it works because excluding the USA 100% of developed nations do exactly that.

The house sending this bill to the Senate is not a repeal it is a step to repeal. they will not make it and we all know it.

poor, old, sick and employees are all likely to lose. better hope you have a wealthy employer that really wants to retain staff...
