You can thank your Republican representatives who celebrated after voting to screw their constituents. Most should have been run out of town on a rail..

Due to a pre-existing condition?

Here's a hint. One can be paid down pretty easily over time (that's less than most car loans) and the other will probably send you into bankruptcy.

That's the difference between having health insurance and not having health insurance.
And a difference that no other first world nation's citizens need ever consider. How stupid does that make some Americans?

Which Republicans gave them no alternative but to pass just to get the foot in the door on discussing healthcare reform.

Seems it worked because Americans are finally waking up from their collective stupor where their right to affordable and UNIVERSALLY available healthcare is concerned.

That train is rolling now and none of you are going to stop it ever again. Get used to the idea...you'll live longer.

Healthcare is not a right.

That being said, making a mess a different mess does nothing to fix the mess.

Great! I got care when I was wheeled into the ER with a chronic condition. If I had been able to walk into a doctor's office a week earlier, I wouldn't have a pre-existing condition today.

If healthcare is not a right, Congress needs to stop redistributing wealth upward, and repeal payroll taxes and the healthcare tax inequity yesterday.

The universal access to it at affordable costs most certainly is a right afforded to those living in every other country calling itself civilized.

Making a mess a worse mess makes it impossible to ignore.

And when that $500,000 in bills is paid by the insurance companies, it's paid for by the other people paying for insurance.

-----------

The real issue is how those with serious pre-existing conditions are paid for.

Personally, I'd like would like to see a federal catastrophic and uninsurable insurance plan that everyone participates in and everyone must help pay for.

People should be responsible for their own normal medical care, but there should be a system that helps with catastrophic illness and the serious pre-existing conditions.

Exactly how does someone living at 100% of poverty level have the CHOICE os getting insurance? How does that work financially?
