Oh please! Spare us the altruistic claptrap that investors are investing from the goodness in their hearts and not because they expect something in return. It's a symbiotic relationship, how would the rich grow their wealth with no where to invest it?

No kidding! That's the fricken point! ding... ding... ding... ding.... we have a winner!

But the left likes to constantly attack the rich so you'll support higher taxes and who wins? Government, because they've gained your support of raising taxes on the very people who provide jobs, services and products you want.

Quite possible yet another extension of copyright in 2018.
What! Extension. That law is never going away or people wouldn't create things. That is someone's property.

Were you stealing music on the internet?

I agree with most of who you posted. But you don't need to buy music or books. They aren't life's musts.

But people do need to buy epi pens.

Then again, if you minimize you will be better off. The next time you see an advertisement where an actress is crawling all over a man and if you buy the cologne she's advertising and women like her will be crawling all over you, resist. She's making big money convincing you to part with your money.

I am building my house without Mortgages, while my house is being built I am renting an apartment. once I am in my new house I will put some chicken and some fruit trees for having food from my backyard and not 100% from the market.

I never buy Brands. I usually buy cheap classic cut clothes

It isn't jealousy and hate -- that's your emotional input into the argument. There may be some socially motivated that resent rich people who want more more more at the expense of the poor.....it is true. But I would argue that is a very small percentage of the left leaning crowd.

I'm all about a capitalist economy. I like the idea of having the opportunity to make a really good life for myself -- however I define that -- for some it is a big house, for others it's a small, less materialistic lifestyle...whatever...I like the choice.

BUT I'm struggling. I want lower health care costs & access to good care for myself but not at the expense of someone not being able to have basic decent health care (not talking emergency care -- day to day care).

I'm not jealous or hate rich people..but I do struggle that while wages have plateaued for most people -- CEO's are still seeing huge percentage increases in their compensation...indicating they are taking more and more and more and more out of the company while not truly compensating their employees based on profit.

Not a whole lot of jealousy and hate for Trump like people. Nope. I like a good comfortable life -- but I don't NEED gold fixtures and spending thousands of dollars on a purse or shoes. Who cares.

I think some on the right like to think left leaning people are jealous and hateful because they don't want to process that it might be that those left leaning people are being a little more compassionate, a little more caring than the right.

Be careful, the right calls it Going Galt to which the left had a good laugh over.

But good for you, but what else are you going to grow and raise to eat? Are you going to live in a log cabin and chopping the wood to build the house. Will you be burning firewood for heat in the winter and lighting the house by oil lamps.

I'm not laughing at you, but then again, I did have to point out that you'll still depend on others. By the way, I also downsized and not buying into the commercialism, not out of hate but for my own financial freedom.

Since people hate the rich so much they should stop using debt and stop buying their products or services and in a renters case don't rent from them.
People hate the rich because workers aren't making what they should make if you factor in productivity and what workers made back in 1980, adjusting for inflation, and the cost of living.

If the US is so great why are American worker wages falling behind the rest of the first world countries? Why have the top 1 percent seen almost all of the economic gains?

Correct, by taking advantage of the corporate capitalism system, moving workers and operations to other countries, abusing the broken tax code, and taking advantage of people. Yup that's how they earned it, by screwing the bottom 99 percent over.

Once again, the willingness to kiss the butt of one side of the equation!

Guess what? They don't make those products or provide those services without workers so please spare us the BS that one side deserves to pay no taxes because they're somehow more important than the other.
