This is likely due to illegals waiting until they are 9 months pregnant with no prenatal care and then running across the border to have the baby.

Why. The maternal maternity task force for which they wanted extended funding was unable to determine the reason though the did state that most deaths were cardiovascular related.

A publication I trust has no ax to grind, did a piece about this subject that changed my mind a little.

The Texas Tribune, Sept. 4, 2016 informs me that 11% of the deaths were due to drug overdoses and suicide. The national study goes out 42 days. A Texas study, a year. So the suicides and homicides may or may not be related to the birth.
