Now it appears Russia, in an attempt to sow discord between the US and its close mideast Allies, planted a fake news article that provoked the current Qatar crisis.

If that's not an adversarial move at us, I don't know what is.

The Soviet Union, like Nazi Germany. was evil incarnate a dictatorship wedded to a poisonous, self-defeating ideology, and determined to impose its rule on those of a dissenting view by any means at its disposal, and to punish hem for their thoughts alone.

In short, in both word and deed, it sounds a lot like the Politically Correct clique who want their views imposed upon both this forum, and upon our nation itself.

Putin and the collection of wannabee-gangsters attempting to salvage a deflated Russia are a sideshow in comparison to our own collection of preschoolers over in LeftyLand.

It's a rogue state, albeit a big one.

American rich elites like it because of the money making opportunities. To declare such a nation an enemy would make American elites our enemies ally. Naturally, these money-grubbers do not care about free elections nor the people's well-being, they care about protecting and enhancing their own wealth.

If those oligarchs who control Russia would back off, return stolen territory and cease messing with their neighbors elections (revealed in many countries) we could have a very good relationship with them. We could still do business and our greedy elites could still make more billions.

I do not think that we should consider them an enemy ... yet.

But who made sure that those oligarchs would control Russia's money and riches at the first place, but the Harvard University and *corporate democrats* Clintons? I'd understand if the Republicans were the culprits, but noooo)))))

P.S. I will not even get into the whole "stolen territory" theory now.

That's quite the theory, of course you don't want to debate Ukraine, Crimea.

Perhaps President Trump and Putin will share some good vodka and stroll in the Red Square some day.

Until Trump came along.

And suddenly formerly loyal Americans jumped on board with him and sung the praises of Mother Russia.

Ignorance may be bliss but it should never lead to betraying your country.
You don't remember the Obama presidency?

Romney called Russia a "geo-political adversary" and Obama tore him a new one and the Democrats cheered Obama on in defense of Russia.

I guess Obama and his voters were ignorant too - per your words.

Romney was right - Russia is a geo-political adversary and all the Democrats blasting him were idiots and are now 180 the other way looking for Russian witches to hang. We could work with Russia to kill ISIS - instead of arming ISIS via arming "moderate" rebels that turn out to be ISIS like Obama.

You attribute amazing powers to the Democrats.

The Russians brought down the Soviet Union all by themselves, and for a while the Communist party was outlawed there. During the free market economic reforms government insiders were able to gain control of state industries. A small group of individuals became billionaires very quickly, essentially gaming the reform process. Representative government is inconvenient to them, they dislike accountability.

You are going to blame Americans for that? You have a strange set of ideas.

These Russian oligarchs and mobsters are the people who have money to lend the Trumps and the Kushners. This font of money-making opportunity is what American carpet-baggers like Donald are salivating over.

In any case, the President of the United States was George H. W. Bush at the time the Soviet Union dismantled itself.

What's there is to debate?
Since Clintons didn't manage to achieve their goals back in the nineties ( turning Russia into your typical third world country, obedient to American corporations, weakening and disintegrating with time,) and things turned unexpectedly "sour" with Putin popping out of nowhere, her vision of international politics consisted of bitter attempts to get back at Russia and subdue it all over again.
Once Nuland and McCaine showed up in Kiev during coup e'etat, (keeping in mind $ 5 billion invested in Ukrainian pro-American politics,) it was obvious that the proxy war was given a go.
Why would someone like Putin let such strategic place as Crimean port with Russian fleet sitting there from 1783 to fell into the hands of its geopolitical adversary?
Even fool wouldn't have let it happen, and Putin is no fool.
