The Democratic base is growing increasingly frustrated with former President Barack Obama’s actions after leaving office, including a seemingly endless tour of millionaire and billionaire luxury retreats, according to Democrats and activists contacted by Fox News.
Ex-presidents, understandably and un-controversially, go on vacations immediately after leaving office. But the level of luxury the Obamas enjoy on their vacations is unprecedented for a modern-day president, say travel experts.
Since leaving office in late January, Obama has visited late actor Marlon Brando’s private island; the Four Seasons in Bali -- where rooms cost upward of $2,000 per night; a Palm Springs estate; Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island; the exclusive Mid Pacific Country Club in Oahu; the 13th-century Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany; and the Rising Sun, Hollywood studio mogul David Geffen’s private yacht.
"These are some of the most luxurious travel destinations in the world. Many of our clients spend tens of thousands of dollars or more to stay at these resorts, which cater to the most discriminating and demanding guests,” said Kendra Thornton, travel expert and owner of luxury travel agency Royal Travel. “For example, Necker Island has a nightly price tag of $80,000. Anyone who stays at these properties does so because they want the best of the best."
Fox News contacted the Borgo Finocchieto hotel. It’s actually not really a hotel, at least of the kind ordinary travelers come to expect. It’s a restored medieval hamlet with five villas and 22 bedrooms that can only be rented for a three-day minimum, in its entirety. Obama touched down at a nearby airport in a private jet escorted by six Eurofighter jets from the Italian Air Force. Presumably, the former president scored a deal on the stay since the Borgo Finocchieto is owned by one of his appointees, the former Italy Ambassador John Phillips.
Left-wing activists told Fox News they are troubled by what they see as a trend by Obama to distance himself from the base of the party. It’s not just vacations. The president also has enjoyed hefty fees for speeches to prominent Wall Street firms. It’s all part of a trend, they say, of Obama trying to join the fabled 1 percent.
It took 8 years for the leftists to figure out that Obama likes his vacations.

For the ones who know the show "Fawlty Towers", Obama is like Miguel on this show.
"I know nothing" and therefore Obama is away on vacations while running the anti Trump bashing and wasting money!
I wonder if anyone will look in the weird, real estate deal the Obama's just did by buying the home they rented. Obama overpaid so much for a house that doesn't seem to be just a dumb deal but might be another reason to transfer money. https://www.google.com/search?q=fawl...KMLgmwHK6IzYDA
Who honestly didn't see this as Obama's end game? He's lazy, entitled, pompous, and loves to mingle with celebrities. Anyone with half a brain could see that his presidential run was to afford him the lifestyle he craved. He had no desire to better the country, only to line his pockets and increase his power. He's a classic narcissist, and is continuing to act like one.

This is a parody post, right? The bolded sentence is synonomous with Donald Trump. In fact, this entire post describes the current occupant of the White House much more accurately than his predecessor. Hilarious.

Whatever else, I like that the fact that Obama has issued nary a peep since leaving office. It would be easy for him to assail the clown in the WH now, but he has remained silent on all fronts.
Of course, the moron who took OB's job is melting down further and further each day, so he doesn't really need a push. But OB, while he could easily bury him, has let it be--however frustrating it must be to see our global relationships fall apart, the climate being assaulted, and our heath care plan being burned to the ground.
Yes, Karma will be a B.
It has been a long standing custom, practice or whatever for the previous POTUS to basically keep his mouth shut regarding his successor, at least for the first few years or so. GWBII didn't say a word against BO after he left office for instance. It just isn't done; the job of POTUS is difficult enough without the new man having to take pot shots from previous holder of that office.
Indeed have to say BO has been rather restrained considering some of the things His Orangeness and or that administration has said about him and or the polices, or whatever that came out of Obama's eight years in office.
DT has not stopped the campaign mode and as such never lets up attacking BO; this is natural it seems as the mere mention of that man's name is enough to get Trump supporters fired up.
