The Atlantic’s Editor In Chief: Trump Is Going To Be Responsible for Violence Against Journalists

The Atlantic’s Editor In Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, on Wednesday said that he suspects that someone who listens to President Trump will see journalists as enemies of the state and carry out a violent attack against them. He said Trump would be responsible for such an attack.

...
“Well, part of my reaction is that we’re are all engaged in a reality TV show. That this is a reality TV version of a war between the president and the press,” Goldberg said.

“The problem is, and this is what I worry about more than anything else, is that there are people in the country who don’t understand that this a cynical reality TV game,” Goldberg concluded. “And are going to hear over and over again from the president that the reporters, journalists are enemies of the state…and someone is going to do something violent against journalists in a large way, and then I know where the fault lies.

Under this same reasoning, why is not Rachel Maddow to blame for Hodgkinson's attempted assassination attempt of U.S. House members?

Maddow was his favorite show. She constantly harps on how Trump is a danger to the country. Somehow she escaped scrutiny for being the motivation for Hodgkinson to kill Congressmen.

The same for the Pizzagate shooter. Apparently, the Pizzagate situation that he read about online motivated him to take action against Comet Pizza - and blame was given to fake news, InfoWars, Breitbart, etc.

Maddow should be getting some heat for her dangerous rhetoric. CNN as well.

---------------------------

I am just noting the inconsistency of how blame is applied.

Ultimately people are responsible for their own actions. This whole blame thing is just an opportunity to harm political enemies in some way, shape, or form... which is why they are ready to blame Trump and conservative media, but don't blame Maddow.

It's like accusation of racism. Only seems to work in one direction.

Snoop Dogg -- not the only liberal lunatic obsessed with assassinating Trump

Snoop Dogg’s new video depicting a “mock-assassination” of President Donald Trump is disturbing enough. But it’s part of a dangerous trend of the left fantasizing about the death or assassination of presidents they oppose -- especially Trump.

First of all, I don't like Snoop or any rappers, so you're not going to get me supporting anything he does. Second, there is a distinction between inciting others to commit an act, and doing the act yourself in an artistic format. And third, Trump's words have far far more impact than a rapper.

Blaming Trump for possible, however unlikely, violence against the media is beyond stupid, its gibbering mindless insanity. The left and the media have finally totally lost it.
Trump wants to take steps to prevent terrorism, he gets blamed for inciting it because the left wants him to do nothing. Then when it happens, they'd blame him for not doing anything.
The left blames right wing talk show hosts for violence against Kathy Gifford, then it turns out they had nothing to do with it. Then Bernie Sanders DOES incite violence against the government among his supporters and they ignore it.
Now the media gets slammed for falsehoods and complete unprofessionalism and when they get criticized they say Trump will make people turn violent against them. They have a narrative of escapist fantasy we're supposed to believe with them and they get angry when we choose reality instead.
Trump should sue CNN for everything they've got, get the network turned over to him and fire everybody.

From what I understand violence is caused by everything but the availability of guns.

So you don't support Snoop, but you will defend him - in calling that art. Give me a break...

I guess that's why WalMart pulled Rick Ross' CD, right?

Isn't it strange? Trump's speech incites violence, in spite of the fact that he has never called for violence. And of course he must be stopped and is hated for it.

Yet according to the same people, the preaching of Islamists calling for the subjugation and murder of non-members of the little cult do nothing to incite violence and their free speech rights must be protected.

Strange, huh?

Man accused of threatening lawmaker on Facebook says he was ‘fed up’ with Republicans

Two weeks after a U.S. congressman and four others were shot during a baseball practice in a Washington suburb by a man with a history of lashing out at Republicans, a Florida lawmaker decided he wasn’t taking any chances.

So Sunday, after someone threatened his life on a Facebook page, state Rep. Jose Felix Diaz, R-Miami, informed police.

And on Monday, Northwest Miami-Dade resident Steve St. Felix, 34, was arrested and charged with written threats with intent to do bodily injury. Police said St. Felix was “fed up” with the Republican Party — and that he hadn’t taken his meds when he posted the threat. It’s unclear what condition the medications were treating.

Preemptive measures...
