Yes, and we have had decades of big government, big regulation, high taxes, and government intrusion from both Democrats and RINO Republicans like Bush I, and II. It is time to put government in its place, reign in spending, reduce taxes, and reduce the size of government.

You can only speculate at this point, you don't know what the future have in store for any of us. And with Trump and this current administration, you sure you want to go there with calling out liars. You wouldn't believe what my people are finding in Hawaii, yeah right.
And, not only that, you are saying there is a link between trump and people's happiness that is simply not a part of the poll you are quoting. One might even say that you are guilty of using "alternative facts".

I'm skeptical of the Examiner story since they don't give details on the poll and the link they provide doesn't lead to it.
You can't even find it on the Rasmussen site unless you're a subscriber.
So this Examiner story could be FAKE NEWS! for all we know.
When searching I ended up at the same set of 2012 questions you did, and I agree - they don't even remotely reflect political atmosphere.
If I had responded to those questions any time this year, I would have said I'm happier now than at any time in the past 2 decades. The source of my current happiness has zero to do with who's in the oval office or congress or with political or economic issues.
