I've condemned the federal government for years for not securing the borders. People here should not have to go without medical care because the government refuses to do it's job and the people refuse to hold it accountable.
it is what it is........we are the 3rd most populated country on earth behind China and India, they have socialized medicine and their system sucks.

all have socialized medicine except the U.S.....why would you risk our economy and quality of care to to change what they have that nobody here would go to those countries to get treatment.

Just for arguments sake, under Communism everyone in China was covered. Infant mortality dropped from 200 per 1000 births to 34 between 1952 to 1982. China then abandoned universal health care. In 15 years there was only 7% of the population outside of the large cities covered. China decided enough of that in 2008 and by 2012 95% of the country was covered. By the end of this decade, everyone will be covered.
Much of China is very rural? Are these areas covered like we expect to be? Of course not. It does NOT suck though.

would you go to China from 1952 to 1982 for medical care over the U.S.?
how about India? Brazil? Philippines ? Vietnam? Mexico? Russia? Indonesia? all have socialized medicine.

It would depend. It's hardly relevant today but if I had no medical insurance and I was told "Come to China, we will treat you are no cost" heck yeah I would do that.

Or Germany, or Canada or Japan. Why would you shoot for the least? Should we model our military on the same standards?
Double speak. You have to realize this. It doesn't need repealed but we need to get rid of it. Sheesh.
The reason we do not in part is those like yourself that know it is not the answer but still feel you simply have to defend it.
It is nothing more than a huge subsidy to the insurance industry. It needs to go and we need single payer.
Oh, I absolutely agree. This is what Obama and democrats wanted. Republicans are totally against it though so Obamacare was passed because it at least gave insurance to millions who didn't have it. But it's not perfect
I'll point out again that the (D)'s had a choice last year between a candidate that wanted health are for all and one that wanted to keep this give away to Wall Street and chose Wall Street.

That bill was another 'bait & switch' ploy, a Republican attempting to 'change the subject' away from their failure to solve or even to competently address problems, how unusual.
Why a Republican Senator Wanted a Vote on Single-Payer Health Care The amendment failed to pass on Thursday afternoon, after no lawmakers voted for it.

...A better gauge of how many Senate Democrats are willing to back a single-payer proposal will be the number that sign on to the legislation that Sanders plans to introduce. ...
