Why wouldn't they order the chicken? Pruzhany, you have said you spend a lot of time in the Middle East. Surely you know that McDonalds is popular there and that the menu is modified in the ME to include about a bazillion different chicken options.
The McDonald's in the Middle East are either Kosher or Halal depending on the country. There is no pork products on their menus. This Muslim family is from New York.
The problem I see with this Muslim family is even if the bacon weren't on the sandwiches the chicken itself would not be allowed to be eaten as both are cooked on the same grill. The bacon grease would've been on the chicken.
It's like when you get a stray fry in the onion rings, or there's a piece of random other ingredient that made it's way via mistake on your sandwich. It's fast food, there will be mistakes.
Is there any reason to think this was done on purpose? Or is it just an overactive mind who is paranoid about others because they're this or that?

Exactly.
And its McDonalds. Do they really think an employee had time or initiative to see who was placing the order, get some bacon, tear it into pieces and place a piece on 14 chicken sandwiches. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it themselves for media attention and some $$$ from Micky D's
It is obvious that this was done on purpose. The regular McChicken sandwich comes with a piece of chicken which has been fried (not grilled), lettuce and mayo on a bun. There is no way the employee mistakenly put bacon on the chicken sandwiches.
