Dana has a valid point with the times and other publications who choose to demonized guns instead of the bad actions of criminals. Liberals hate AR 15 Sport rifles and basically the Liberal crowd knows they cannot control Americans whom disagree with the Socialist Liberal Agenda.

DC and California has been determined they can not stop people to get CCW under their good cause law.

I am Frankly tired of Libs getting into American Rights because their voice is the only voice that matters , to a Liberals.

That said, I suspect we might have different ideas as to what a free press means. Many would say outside of government control, which I would agree with.

However, (and I am assuming you are a liberal based on your anti-Fox & Breitbart comment), what would you say if the NYT and other major media outlets all were hardcore conservatives, and reported the news from that perspective. [?]
I agree with liberals on some things, and conservatives on some things. You can read my posts and see that.

I am a 'tweener

But I am old enough to remember the Fairness Doctrine, which was basically killed off during Ronald Reagan's administration. It was after this the Fox News was started, and I watched it a lot. It's programming was so transparently biased it gave me headaches. The host would have two guests, and take sides with one of them to gang up on the other guest! I wasn't used to such nonsense. It was such a manipulated style of programming I couldn't stand it.

I did not know much about Breitbart until I was exposed to it from reading references to it here, and learning about Steve Bannon. It is clearly yellow journalism. I am quite sure there must be leftist examples of the same type of rag, but I wouldn't be able to name them.

But to your question. I am quite familiar with conservative newspapers, I grew up with the Chicago Tribune, which in it's day was the flagship Republican paper. Most of the big city and small town newspapers I have had access to have had a conservative bent all of my life, it was just always assumed they would be because their owners are people with money. Mostly the bias would come out in the editorial pages, not buried in the articles.

Even though these newspapers were conservative, they were truly practicing fairly good journalism. The New York Times has been more liberal and endorsing Democrats for decades, so what? I think the New York Times is also practicing good journalism these days, it always has been a reputable paper.

The way people describe it the New York Times is something like the National Enquirer, but liberal. No comparison, sheer nonsense. The NYT is not fabricating stories like that.

I can deal with a certain amount of bias, as long as they attempt to promote good journalism. That means mistakes might be made, but retractions and corrections follow. Journalists shouldn't be spin doctors, they should just tell the story, no matter how unpleasant it is for the readers or viewers.

We have been hearing about a "liberal Bias" in the media for decades, at least since Nixon, it was never as bad as claimed. I still remember Spiro Agnew's 'Nattering Nabobs of Negativism' comments, but attacking the media was their way of covering for misdeeds.

If people think the NYT is too biased for them, I think that might be because they have been prepped to think that, not because of their own independent evaluation.

I'm still waiting them to release a statement supporting Philandro Castile and condemning him for being murdered simply for carrying his registered CCW.

NRA Breaks Its Silence on Philando Castile Shooting - Hit & Run : Reason.com

She probably had to go home and take three showers afterwards.

"We're coming for you" is a threat. It's absurd to say that it isn't. For someone who calls himself nononsenseguy, you sure talk a lot of nonsense.

Do you work for the rag? Do you live in NYC? No... how are you justified in determining it's a threat??? Feel threatened? Call 911... simple as that.

Let's say Fox is right leaning. What percentage of the MEDIA is right leaning? A few percent, maybe? So 95%+++ of the MEDIA is LEFTIST LIES. You lose.

That poster is not ignorant, just being obtuse.

No one (at least in their right mind) would publicly say in a TV ad we are coming to get you if they meant it in actuality.
No, the poster knows it is metaphorical, but pretend to believe it is real, so they can voice false outrage.

NY should be front and center in the gun rights fight with the ridiculous laws they have against the law abiding.

If it wasn't the NRA a New Yorker wouldn't be able to even own a gun.
